Attention HHS Graduating Seniors,
If you were ever a member of the cross country or track and field team, you are eligible to apply for the Coach Raffin Scholarship.
The Coach Raffin Scholarship is to be awarded to a graduating senior of Holly High School who was a member of the cross-country or track & field team for at least one year while in high school, and who has been accepted to a college, university or technical school. The recipient will embody values instilled by Coach Raffin through the demonstration of hard work, perseverance and a positive mental attitude. This may be demonstrated through one or more letters of recommendation provided by the applicant as well as the observations and experience of the advisory selection committee.
The award ($1,000) may be used for tuition, books, fees and housing related to higher education.
Deadline is Tuesday March 24th at 3pm. Feel free to share this post in order to help spread the word about this great opportunity.
Scholarship information may be picked up in the counseling office or in the athletic office. Information will also be handed out at the track and field preseason meeting in Coach Merlo’s room on Monday March 2nd.

Duane coached at Holly for 38 years in track and field and cross country. Along with numerous league championships in track & field and in cross country, Duane led four different teams to state championships. Those state championships went to his 1971 boys’ track & field team, his 1977 and 78 boys’ cross country teams (back to back state titles) and to his 1990 girls’ cross country team. Duane is a member of the Michigan High School Coaches’ Hall of Fame, a member of the Michigan High School Track Coaches’ Hall of Fame, and a two time National Coach of the Year.
