STATE BANK ATHLETE of the WEEK
Each week, every in season varsity coach is allowed to nominate one team member to be considered as a nominee for the State Bank Athlete of the Week honor. Once coaches have submitted their nominations, the athletic director meets with the athletic directors from Fenton, Hartland, Lake Fenton and Linden to discuss the nominees in each sport category. Once discussed, the athletic directors vote on the athlete who will be named the State Bank Athlete of the Week. The State Bank in Fenton sponsors this wonderful program and recognizes the winners on their website

Athletes who win will be awarded a State Bank certificate signed by their president along with a medal/keychain. Holly athletes who win will also be given an athlete of the week t-shirt. Below you will find the winners for the 2019-20 school year (and previous years).
2019-2020 School Year
Boys Ski – Jack Ford
After being sick coming into our first ski meet of the year, Jack was able to come out and win the Slalom race for the boys with a finish time of 53.23 and was a very close second in the Giant Slalom.
Girls Basketball – Hunter Weeder
Hunter scored 9 points, had 17 rebounds, 2assists, and 2 steals in games vs. Lake Fenton and Kearsley. Sometimes scoring points is not the only thing a player can do to help her team. Her rebounding was very good and her defense was outstanding against two very good teams.
Boys Swim and Dive – Drew Hignite
Drew took 1st place in both of his individual events at our meet against Corunna High School on Thursday night and got a PR of 1:13.43 in the 100 breast stroke.
Boys Basketball – Danny Mathews
Danny Mathews was a key player in helping Holly get back-to-back wins this week. Danny was suffocating on defense, guarding the opponents best player a majority of the time. At the same time, he accumulated (7) rebounds, (6) steals, (6) assists, going 12 of 13 from the FT line and scoring (26) total points.
Wrestling – Jacob Gonzales
Emma had 26 pts 7 rebs 7 assts and 6 steals in two games against DeWitt and Linden. During the Linden game on Friday, she jumped started the 2nd Qtr with two layups and two steals. Emma had 12 of her game high 20 pts in the second half of the Linden game Friday night and led her team to a victory. Her defense was also very good in both games.
Boys Bowling – Justin Mallory
Justin rolled games of 219 – 216 435 series took 1 point against on of the best bowlers in the state!
Girls Swim and Dive – Emma Coggins
Emma was feeling sick on Monday and still not at her best Tuesday for the meet, but when she got in the pool she managed to swim best times in all of her events. With 4 second drops in both her 200 and 500 freestyle she was very happy with her improvements. Additionally, at the next practice, she stepped up and swam a test set to earn her varsity letter!
Volleyball – Sydnie Meszler
The Bronchos defeated Kearsley and Swartz Creek this week to finish their season with a Flint Metro League Championship! They also finished in the gold bracket at the Stoney Creek tournament. Sydnie Meszler played a large role in running the team’s offense. She finished the week with 4 aces, 74 assists, and 10 digs.
Girls Swim and Dive – Lauren Costigan
Lauren started training for the 500 freestyle this year and has already reached her goal she set at the beginning of the season. At the Fenton/Holly/FKLF meet, she broke 6:00 and found out that even when tired and nervous she can still put up great times and improve. She is now even more excited and confident for the league meet in two weeks. Her new goal is to be under 5:50.
Volleyball – Kennedy Hogan
Tennis – Walker Glass
Holly’s 1 Singles player, freshman Walker Glass had a great week of tennis including a big win over Brandon.
Cross Country – Monica Ruiz
Monica was 17th at FML Jamboree #1. She was 7th in #2. This was perhaps her best race in two years. Monica continued her dominance at the Coaching legends classic Inv. Placing 17th in her best time of the season thus far of 20:46.
Soccer – Mitchell Thiel
Mitch had a great game last week against one of our big league opponents. In the White Out game on Monday versus Flushing, Mitch recorded his second shutout in as many games by making some big saves often coming out of the net to pressure and close down attackers. His 5 saves were instrumental in keeping Flushing off the board and the momentum in the Broncho half.
Tennis – Joe Kittle
4 singles Joe Kittle played some great tennis again this week. Joe had a solid win over Goodrich and then played a very strong player from Flushing in a tight match. He was also very competitive with some of the top teams in the state in the Holly Invite on Saturday.
Volleyball – Nicole Jewell
Holly Volleyball defeated Kearsley this week 3-0 (25-8, 25-11, 25-14). Nicole Jewell payed six-rotations for the Bronchos and never left the court. As a right side hitter and a setter, Nicole finished the game with 7 aces, 7 kills, 16 assists, and 2 digs. Nicole’s leadership on and off the court has pushed the Bronchos to a strong start this season.
Girls Swim and Dive – Becca Costigan
First place in both individual and both relay events; dropped 27 seconds in her 200 IM and 3 seconds in her 100 breaststroke going 2:37.59 and 1:17.98 respectively; this is setting her well to have a great rest of her senior year.
Cross Country – Brad Baxter
Brad led the running Bronchos to a 12th place finish in the Holly invite on Saturday. Brad ran 17:46 and finished 27th overall out of 175 runners
Tennis – Brendan Kreft and Matt Moller
2 Doubles Brendan Kreft and Matt Moller won 3 of 5 matches this week including a big 3 set win over division 1 Utica Eisenhower.
Cross Country – Andrea Ruiz
Andrea was 2nd place at the first FML Jamboree and then took 10th place, in a time of 19:09, at the Bath Invitational, which featured many of the state’s best runners.
Volleyball – Paige Weeder
The Bronchos finished strong this week with a 3-0 win against Linden and went undefeated in the Mt. Morris tournament to bring home the championship, beating a talented Brighton team twice in the same day. Paige Weeder played 6-rotations for the Bronchos in every match and was instrumental in their success. Against Linden, Paige finished with 2 aces, 9 kills, 8 digs, and passed a 1.73 on serve receive. Tournament stats are still being compiled, but in the first two matches (out of six), Paige had 4 aces, 16 kills on 28 attempts (hitting at .429), and 15 digs. Paige’s leadership and drive to win pushed her team through a long day and into a championship win.
Football – Logan Dzendzel
Logan Dzendzel led a tough defensive attack against a very strong Division 1 Fraser team. Dzendzel had 3 sacks, 4 tackles for loss with a total of 8 tackles on the night. Logan lead the defense which only allowed 3 points and and a total of 101 yards of offense on the night. Dzendzel help put the game away when he recorded 2 sacks and a tackle for loss on Fraser final drive, topping any chance for a comeback. His continuous pressure and presence in the opponents backfield kept them off balance and help hold Fraser to 58 yd’s rushing.
Tennis – Jack Ford and Adam Booher
1 doubles team of senior Jack Ford and freshman Adam Booher played a great match on Tuesday by mounting a come from behind victory vs. Corunna. After dropping the 1st set 6-3, Jack and Adam bounce back 6-1 in the second set and took the third set 6-3. This effort helped the team take their first Flint Metro League match of the year 8-0.
Soccer – Nick Rees
Nick Rees is our 4-year varsity, senior captain. Following a tough summer recovering from an ankle injury, Nick was excited about his senior season. The first game of the year, on Monday, August 19 against Waterford Mott, Nick again suffered an light ankle injury that took him out for the night after 4 minutes of play. His composure despite the circumstances was remarkable and he kept the team in upbeat spirits the rest of the night. Fearing the worst, I was excited to find out that he was cleared by the trainer the next day and ready for game 2 on Wednesday, August 21 against Carman-Ainsworth. He played extremly well the first half of the game and provided many oportunities for the team. His hard work paid off as the second half was about half over and he converted a strong throw in from deep in the C-A end with a highlight reel diving header to the side of the box. The team was electric at that point. Not 10 minutes later, Nick struck again with a great shot off a rebound that had landed about 6 yards from the goal. Holly finished out the game with a win and look forward to the remainder of the season.
Tennis – Cameron McAninch and Quintin Monty
Cameron McAninch and Quintin Monty played great this weekend at Clarkston Invitational with a big win at #1 doubles over Walled Lake Central.
Volleyball – Sarah Jewell
Sarah Jewell put her team first this weekend. Normally a front-row player, Sarah played libero for the Bronchos at the Lake Orion tournament on Saturday and played in the back row the entire day. In four matches, Sarah served at 93% with 2 aces, passed a 2.13 on serve receive, had 10 assists, and 33 digs. (Her numbers are even higher, as final stats for the weekend won’t be completed until Monday). She was instrumental in the Bronchos splitting with Oxford and taking a talented Brighton team to 23-25. Sarah left everything on the court this weekend and was an enormous support to her team on defense.
2018-2019 School Year
Wrestling – Nate Young
Nate was outstanding at the Wrestling State Finals and placed 2nd. Nate did not place last year and was only 3rd. in the Regional meet two weeks ago. Nate is a junior and finished the season with a 55-8 record.
Boys Ski – Connor Ford
Connor Ford made it to MHSAA Skiing State Finals for the Giant Slalom event. Among some very fast skiers, Connor was able to ski into the 11th Position and secure his spot as 2nd team all state!
Girls Bowling – Laken Pointer
Laken Pointer threw a high game of 160 and winning her point against Fenton this past Saturday!
Boys Bowling – Andrew Sorter
Andrew Sorter threw a 177 game winning his point and helping to lead our team to victory over Fenton this past Saturday.
Boys Basketball – Dylan Hignite
Dylan had a great game Tuesday night. Dylan tallied 18 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 3 steals. Dylan’s big night help lead the team to a 62-36 victory.
Boys Basketball – Hunter Jackson
Hunter had his best offensive game of the season against Swartz Creek. Hunter scored 17 points did a good job of protecting the ball.
Boys Swim – Emilio Perez
Emilio played a great role in both of Holly’s dual meet wins for the swim team last week. He took first place in the 100 freestyle in our meet against Avondale as well as 1st place in the 500 with a Personal best time at our meet against Kearlsy on Thursday. Likewise he was also in our 400 free relay that took 1st place onThursday as well.
Girls Bowling – Chloe Bowren
Chloe Bowren threw games of 145, 152 and 147 for a 444 series at the Oakland County tournament on Sunday at Cherry Hill Lanes North.
Competitive Cheer – Kaitlyn Dudley
Kaitlyn is a 4 year varsity competitive cheerleader. As a catpain she works hard leading her team with her powerful words and strong dedication. Kaitlyn is in rounds one and three, and a strong leader on the side for round 2. With all her dedication, and hard work she lead her team to come out on top with 1st place this past weekend at Oak Park
Wrestling – Jacob Gonzales
Jacob went 7-0 with 7 pins this week to help Holly go 7-0 for the week and in the process win the Plymouth team tournament. He is 32-1 for the season and Has not lost since December 8th.
Basketball – Gavin Ambrose
Gavin has averaged 10.5 points per game this week. The most impressive statistic about him is that he is shooting 100% from the field. In the first game against Waterford Kettering Gavin scored 13 points and was 2 for 2 from the field (1 for 1 from the 3-point line) and 7 of 11 from the free throw line. Against Goodrich Gavin scored 8 points and went 3 for 3 from the field (1 for 1 from the three-point line) and 1 for 3 from the free throw line. Gavin also averages 6.5 rebounds per game this past week
Basketball – Ben Gramer
The Holly basketball team played one game this week. Ben Gramer played exceptionally well scoring 20 points. of those 20 points Ben made five three pointers (5 of 8). Ben also contributed six rebounds, two steals, and a charge.
Bowling – Justin Mallory
Sophomore Justin Mallory rolled games of 220 and 176 winning both of his points and helping to lead the team our first victory of the season or the Fenton Tigers.
Wrestling – Blake Querio
Senior Blake Querio wrestles at 285 lbs. He went 5-0 with 3 pins. The most impressive win was a 3-1 victory over the #1 ranked wrestler from Warren Woods Tower. Blake also defeated the #6 D1 ranked heavyweight from Caldonia.
Bowling – Jake Warner
Senior Jake Warner helped to lead the Bronchos to their second victory of the season with games of 200 and 178 on Saturday against the Linden Eagles and winning both of his points. On Sunday, at the Lakeland Invitational, he threw games of 193 and 240.
Basketball – Rebecca Fugate
Rebecca Fugate became just the 4th player in Holly Girls Basketball history to score over 1,000 points. In the week she scored 50 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 15 steals. Congratulation to Rebecca and the Holly Girls Basketball team for the wonderful milestone.
Wrestling – Cade Dallwitz
Cade won his 3rd. Oakland County championship on 12-22. he went 6-0 with 5 pins. He also recorded his 150 th. career win in the finals.
Bowling – Braden Wilson
Braden Wilson, in our match at Holly Lanes against Flushing, threw a 218 winning his point.
Bowling – Savanna Moriarty
Senior Savanna Moriarty, a first year bowler, threw games of 145 and 215 to win Holly’s only point against Swartz Creek this past Saturday at Holly Lanes.
Football – Andrew DeHart
Andrew DeHart was selected to the FML honorable mention team under the defensive end position. Andrew’s positive attitude and coachable mentality along with his honor roll GPA has allowed him to be the ideal student-athlete. Andrew showed incredible improvement throughout the season which earned him starting roles on offense, defense, and most special teams.
Cross Country – Jose Vivanco
Jose ran a 31 second PR on Tuesday at the Post a Pr invitational and won the invite! Jose ran 16:35 for the 5k! Congratulations!
Tennis – Cameron McAninch & Jack Ford
Our 3 doubles team of Cameron McAninch and Jack Ford had a great state finals making it to the second round eventually falling to the fourth seeded U of D Jesuit. Well done guys!
Football – Logan Spencer
In the Clio football game on Friday, Oct. 19th, Logan had 8 receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown. The Bronchos defeated the Mustangs, 16-14. Way to go Logan!
Tennis – Wyatt Caldwell
After losing to Flushing 6-2, 6-4 in the championship match of the league tournament just 1 week prior, 3 singles Wyatt Caldwell was able to get redemption on Thursday at the regional tournament when he upset number 2 seeded Flushing 6-3, 6-0 in the semifinals. Wyatt helped his team qualify for the state finals and earn 2nd place overall with his runner-up finish at 3 singles. Congratulations Wyatt!
Tennis – Matthew Moller
In there Flint Metro League tournament, #1 Doubles player Matthew Moller and his partner Jack Terry upset the 2 seed Fenton. Earlier this season, they lost to Fenton 7-5 in the third set. Matthew and Jack had their best day of the year beating Fenton 6-1, 6-2 and then played a tough match vs. #1 seed Flushing in the final. (Jack Terry won ATW earlier this season)
Football – Cade Dallwitz
Cade Dallwitz had a great game on Friday v. Ecorse with 190 yards rushing of 15 attempts along with 2 TDs (runs of 70 and 34). Additionally, Cade had added 8 tackles in his defensive effort for the Bronchos. Our senior captain and 4 year starter has been the Holly offense this season. Congratulations Cade!
Tennis – Brendan Kreft & Trey Ridgway
4 Doubles Trey Ridgway and Brendan Kreft had a great week of tennis that included winning their flight at the Holly Invitational. This included big wins over Division 1 Grand Blanc and Rochester Adams. The team did not drop a set all day. Congratulations Guys!
Cross Country – Andrea Ruiz
Andrea took 8th place with a time of 18:38, at the very prestigious Jackson Invite. Many of the state’s premier programs were in the race. Congratulations Andrea!
Volleyball – Lauren Lesch
Lauren Lesch, a sophomore libero, contributed significantly to the Broncho’s two Flint Metro League wins this week. Against Linden, Lauren showed incredible composure serving 13 straight points in a pressure-filled fifth game, which led to a 15-1 Holly victory. Lauren finished the game with four assists and 20 digs. Her totals for the week were 7 aces, 2 kills, 11 assists, and 42 digs.
Tennis – Leyton Reister
Leyton Reister had awesome week of tennis highlighted by his big conference wins over Clio and Flushing. In his match against Clio, he needed to pull out a tight 7-5 second set. In his match against Flushing, Leyton was down 5-2 in the first set and was able to rattle off 5 straight games to win the first set 7-5 and take the second 6-2. Congratulations Leyton!
Tennis – Christian Sells and Jack Terry
Christian and Jack played an excellent tournament in the very tough Ann Arbor Pioneer tournament. While they did not win a match against the top state ranked teams, every set they played was competitive. Congratulations Guys!
Volleyball – Maddie Meszler
Maddie Meszler started off her senior year of volleyball by breaking a school record two weeks into the season! A four-year varsity player, Maddie broke the record for Aces in a Career while playing North Branch at their tournament. She continued her tough serving with 12 aces, 19 digs, and 57 assists this week. Congratulations Maddie!
Tennis – Garrett VanGilder and Garrett Reid
Senior, Garrett VanGilder and sophomore, Garrett Reid had a great weekend in Traverse City finishing 2nd at the Traverse City Central invite. This 2nd doubles team defeated Traverse City Central and Holt. Congratulations guys!
2017-2018 School Year
Tennis – Makayla Bilbia and Sami Hild
Sami and Makayla won a match at the MHSAA State Finals helping their team take Top 5 in the state for a second straight year. Congratulations!
Tennis – April Tetlow
April (along with partner Megan Lesperance) won the league finals without dropping a set and defeated Mason and Okemos this past week at 3 doubles. Congratulations April!
Tennis – Makenzi Sells
Makenzi won a MHSAA Regional Championship at the 3 singles flight. This victory contributed to her team’s perfect 32 point Regional Championship and qualification for the D2 State Finals in Kalamazoo. Makenzi won all three of her matches without dropping a set. Congratulations Makenzi and good luck this weekend at the state finals!
Tennis – Taylor Barrett
Taylor Barrett had a sensational week at the top of Holly’s lineup. She didn’t drop a game in her two Flint Metro League wins over Owosso and Brandon. However, Taylor’s top highlight of the week was extending 5 Star, Michigan State University commit, Tia Mukherjee of Bloomfield Hills High School to a thrilling 3 set match. Taylor lost in the 3rd set tiebreaker but may have played her best match of the season. Taylor and her team now look forward to the regional tournament this week. Congratulations Taylor!
Tennis – Ruby Barrett
After being out of the lineup for a few weeks from injuries and sickness, Ruby Barrett returned in a big way this week. Ruby had 3 wins on the week with her only losses to defending Division 1 Co-State Champions, Midland Dow and Northville. Ruby’s biggest moment of the week was this Saturday in the Holly Invitational against state ranked Traverse City Central at 1 doubles. After dropping the first set, Ruby and her partner, Maika Hogarth, rallied back to take the 2nd set and then ultimately the match tiebreak 11-9 with an awesome deep backhand winner from Ruby on match point! Congratulations Ruby!
Baseball – Aaron Lockitski
Aaron had a very nice week. He went 8-20 at the plate including 3 doubles, 3 RBI’s, 2 walks, and a run. Aaron was the winning pitcher over Goodrich at UM stadium, getting the win and only allowed 1 earned run.
He also played error free defense behind the plate while throwing out 4 base runners. (Including 3 vs Trenton on Sat). Great week Aaron! Congratulations!
Baseball – DJ Tennis
Last week DJ threw a complete game shoutout win vs league opponent Flushing. This was a huge win for Broncho baseball. DJ only allowed 2 hits, 1 BB and had 4 Ks. He was 4-13 at the plate with a double, TWO home runs, 5 RBI, 3 runs and 2 base on balls. Great week DJ! Congratulations!
Tennis – Lauren Lesch
4th singles freshmen, Lauren Lesch, had an amazing week of tennis. She started her week by going 2-0 in her first ever Flint Metro League matches against Kearsley and Clio. In Lauren’s second match vs. Clio she was able to mount a comeback victory in a extremely exciting final set that took place in wintery conditions. Lauren capped her week off with a win over Birmingham Groves at the Brighton Invite. Congratulations!
Baseball – JD Lannon
JD went 6-15 for the week. At bats included: (4) Doubles, 3 runs, 3 RBI, BB, SB. He also pitched 6 innings in a league game and earned the win. Pitching stats include: 1H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 4 K . We were 2-3 team record for the week. Great job and congratulations JD!
Track & Field – Gabrielle St. Andre
Gabrielle snagged two individual 1st place finishes against Brandon and Linden in the 100 M Dash, running 13.23 and in the 400 M Dash, running 1:05.37. She returned to help out her teammates in the 4×100 M Relay, which finished in 2nd place .3 seconds behind first. St. Andre ended the meet contributing to the 1st place 4×400 M Relay which ran 4:32.83. Congratulations!
Tennis – Danielle Sink
Danielle played phenomenal tennis this week at the #1 doubles flight with her partner Megan McReynolds. The team picked up a win over state ranked St. Clair and then pushed the #4 team in Division 1, Grosse Pointe South, to a 3rd set tiebreaker. Great week Danielle! Congratulations!
Soccer – Victoria Karakuc
In our game vs. Davison, Victoria scored the lone Holly goal. Congratulations Victoria!
Tennis – Taylor McAninch & Megan Lesperance
Seniors Taylor McAninch and Megan Lesperance went 2-0 this weekend with wins over division 1 state ranked Rockford and Port Huron Northern. The last victory of the night was an exciting 10 point tiebreaker that Taylor and Megan pulled out – not to mention it Megan was the birthday girl! What a way to celebrate!
Tennis – Maika Hogarth & Megan McReynolds
Maika and Megan won a huge match over state ranked Division 1 Port Huron Northern at the #1 double flight. The team looks for huge contributions from both Maika and Megan this season! Congratulations!
Basketball – Sami Hild
Sami was again an instrumental part of our success this last week. In our three games (win over Lake Orion Monday, win over Oxford on Wednesday, and a loss to Clarkston Friday in the district championship), Sami was a vital part of our team both offensively and defensively. In our game Monday night, she finished with four points but she was the one sealed the victory for us at the free throw line. With 51 seconds left and a two point lead, Sami stepped to the line and made two free throws (in a 1 and 1 situation) to seal the 39-34 win over Lake Orion. On Wednesday, Sami led our team with 5 assists (from the forward position) to go along with her two points and 4 rebounds. In our final game of the week, Sami led our team in scoring with 4 points against a very physical and long Clarkston team. Words will never be able to describe the impact that Sami had on this team and our program as a four year varsity player. Congratulations Sami!
Bowling – Braden Wilson
Braden started out the day in singles for Regionals throwing games of 246 and 226 and a series of 1202 averaging 200 on the day and placing 6th out of 97 bowlers in his region.
Competitive Cheer – Ashley Grugel
Ashley is a Holly senior that has participated in competitive cheerleading all four years in high school. She has also been a strong competitor, ending the season competing in all three rounds for all four years. In Districts, Ashley helped lead her team to the highest score of the season in round three of 270.50, ending the season with the high score of 665.04. An achievements for Ashley this season was landing and throwing her standing back tuck for the very first time during a competition. She is the perfect roll model and a leader that every team needs. Ashley is always working hard, dedicated, and has inspiring and positive words for her teammates. Additionally, Ashley demonstrates honor and respect to her coaches, her school and most importantly her team. Congratulations!
Boys Bowling – Eddie Sanner
Eddie Sanner threw a 212 winning his point in our win against Linden this past Saturday. Congratulations!
Boys Basketball – Hunter Jackson
Hunter Jackson scored 17 pts and had 5 rebounds to help Holly with a come from behind victory over Clio 51-48. Hunter scored 15 of those points all in the 1st half to keep Holly within striking distance.
Boys Bowling – Braden Wilson
In our match against Flushing Braden Wilson threw a very impressive game of 222 to win his point and help the team to a tie. Congratulations Braden!
Boys Skiing – Max Ford
Max Ford finished 1st in GS this week and 2nd in Slalom. He helped lead the Boys Holly/Oxford Ski Team to a win against the Powers Catholic Ski Team. His Slalom time was a 55.21 and he ran a very, very fast time in GS which was 44.43. Congratulations Max! Great races!
Girls Skiing – Danielle Sink
Danielle Sink helped the Girls Holly/Oxford Ski Team ski to another victory this week against the Powers Catholic girls. She had strong performances in both GS and Slalom this week. In GS she finished 3rd overall and 2nd on the team, finishing with a very quick combined time of 51.18. In Slalom she finished 4th overall and 3rd on the team with a time of 1:12.55.
Wrestling – Wyatt Scribner
Senior Wyatt Scribner went 7-0 this week. On Saturday, Wyatt finished the day 5-0 including a win over #3 ranked Caro wrestler, and led Holly to the tournament championship. His performance impressed the other coaches and they voted him the MVP of the lower weight classes. Wyatt leads the Bronchos with a 41-3 overall record. Congratuations Wyatt!
Girls Basketball – Emma Tooley
Emma is a freshman guard on our team this year and has made a major impact right away. She has started all 12 games for us up to this point and had a very good week for us helping earn two more victories (Tuesday at home over Notre Dame Prep and Friday at Brandon). Emma is a spark plug for us and is never short on energy. This week she finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 6 steals, and 2 assists. We are very appreciative of all the hard work that Emma puts in and look forward to her continuing to help our program continue to be successful into the future. Congratulations Emma!
Boys Skiing – Connor Ford
Connor was the fastest male skier and not only for our Holly/Oxford ski team, but for the overall race as well! He helped lead the undefeated Holly/Oxford ski team to a win against Flushing. His GS (giant slalom) time was 45.78 and his SL (slalom) time was 56.91. Congratulations Connor!
Boys Bowling – Andrew Sorter
In our match Saturday morning against first place Swartz Creek, Andrew Sorter…in his first start as a varsity bowler, threw a 223. He took his point and posted the highest score of both teams. He followed up this game with a 192 giving him a 415 series and averaging 207. Congratulations Andrew!
Boys Swimming & Diving – Logan Molzahn
Logan was an instrumental part of Holly’s performance during the Gen County Swim and Dive Championships last weekend. He took 2nd place in the 200 freestyle (time 1:51.92), 6th place in the 100 backstroke (time 59.94) as well as contributing in two of Holly’s relays. Great meet Logan. Congratulations!
Boys Bowling – Zach Miller
In Sunday’s Oakland County Tournament, Zach Miller received a medal for bowling a 245 game…the 10th highest game of the day out of 462 games thrown by bowlers from 31 schools. He followed that up with a 204. Congratulations Zach!
Girls Bowling – Kaitlyn Meir
Saturday, Kaitlyn Meir bowled in the Oakland County tournament at Astro Lanes. She received a medal throwing the 6th highest game of the day of a 226. (There were approximately 405 games thrown this day) Great job Kaitlyn! Congratulations!
Girls Basketball – Payton Price
Payton Price is the spark plug for our team and does all the little things that make our team successful. In our two games this week (a tough loss to Hartland and a tough win vs. Fenton), Payt had two games that showed why she is so valuable to this team. She scored a combined 14 points, had 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals. In both games, she was assigned to guard the other teams best perimeter players and did a very good job limiting their production. In our win vs. Fenton, she made arguably the two plays that won the game for us. With 1:20 left in a tie game, it was her pass on a back door cut to Rebecca Fugate that put us up two. Then, with 5.5 seconds left, it was her defensive rebound and two ensuing free throws (in a 1 and 1 situation) that sealed the victory. We are proud of Payt and we as coaches know how valuable she is to the success of our team. Congratulations Payton!
Girls Bowling – Terin Cooley
Terin threw a 180 game in our match vs. Linden last Saturday and won her point. The Bronchos went on to defeat the Eagles 23-7. Congratulations Terin and team Holly!
Girls Basketball – Taylor Vines
Taylor is our senior captain and a four year varsity player. In our only game this week (a tough loss 56-60) to Kearsley), Taylor recorded a career high of 18 points. She also had 11 rebounds. Taylor works extremely hard and does all of the little things that help our team be successful. Congratulations Taylor! Well deserved!
Boys’ Basketball – Noah Baylis
Noah Baylis, Sophomore for Holly High School Boys’ Basketball, led ALL game scorers and scored 21 pts and had 5 assists in Holly’s 57-40 win over Lake Fenton. Two days later he led ALL game scorers again with 11 pts in a 44-34 loss to Flushing. Congratulations Noah!
Girls’ Basketball – Rebecca Fugate
In our two games this week (a win at Lake Orion on Monday and a tough loss at defending state champion Flushing on Friday), Rebecca led us in both games. At Lake Orion, she scored 20 points, had 2 rebounds, 2 steals and was 9-10 from the free throw line (8-8 in the final 4 minutes of the game to get the win). On Friday at Flushing, Bec led all scorers with 24 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and had 2 steals. As one of our two captains, Bec does a great job leading by example and is one of our hardest workers both on the court and in the classroom. She is a model student athlete. Congratulations Rebecca!
Boys’ Bowling – Jacob Warner
In our match against Clio on Saturday, Jake threw games of 243 and 224 winning both of his points. Congratulations Jake!
Girls’ Bowling – Jenna Royle
In our match against Kearsley, Jenna took both of her points by throwing games of 169 and 246. Congratulations Jenna!
Football – Collin Dallwitz … Lineman of the Year
Collin was our warrior—he never left the field on offense, defense or special teams. Excellent in all areas: Run-stopping, Pass coverage and Pass Rush. Collin played consistent from start to finish. He moved to DLine the second half of the season and our defense played exceptionally better moving forward.He played 4 different defensive positions this past season for us. Collin is the total package as a football player. Congratulations Collin!
Soccer – Kaleb Fogelsong
Holly’s Kaleb Foglesong scored the game winner for the Bronchos in their District match Monday. That goal gave the Holly midfielder his 11th for the season and his 4th game winner for the Bronchos. His effort this year earned the Holly Junior 2nd Team All FML Honors. Congratulations!
Football – Wyatt Scribner
Wyatt Scribner had a great final game. He was a stalwart on the grid iron last Friday leading Holly to its second shut-out on the season as he lead an inspired defense with 7 tackles, 2 interceptions, 1 safety and 1 Pass Break-up. Offensively Wyatt was a key member of the offense as it registered 31 points and accounted for over 400 yards of offense has he was the lead blocker on many plays that sprung a teammate to over 190 yards rushing. Congratulations!
Tennis – Trey Ridgway
Trey had an amazing first season with the Holly Tennis Program stepping right into the lineup and playing #4 Doubles with freshman Christian Sells. This doubles team got better and better throughout the season as they went undefeated in Flint Metro League play and won a flight championship at the Flint Metro League Tournament. Their season ended with an amazing match against state ranked Grosse Pointe North that Christian and Trey pushed to a 3rd set. While they lost the match 6-3 in the third set, it was most likely the best match they played the entire season. Congratulations!
Tennis – Braden Wilson
Braden Wilson had an excellent season at the #2 Singles position and continued his season with a great match against a seeded player from Auburn Hills Avondale. While Braden lost the match, he played very, very well in a 6-3, 6-4 losing effort. Congratulations!
Tennis – Garrett VanGilder
Garrett and his partner are 2 doubles league champions and look to be a high seed a the regional tournament this week. Garrett also is the the kickoff specialist for the varsity football team and is having a great fall season!
Football – Jacob Honstetter
Jacob Honstetter had an outstanding night playing in only 2 quarters of action. He rushed for 90 yards on 7 carries and had 2 TDs (14 and 33 yards) and added 2 catches for 25 yards. Defensively, Jacob added 5 tackles and was a key defensive contributor to the Holly shut-out victory.
Soccer – Justin Moulton
Justin’s outstanding performance allowed Holly to tie a red-hot Brandon team who, up to that point, had won every FML match they had played. Justin stopped 14 shots at Wednesday’s match vs Brandon – many of those shots were certain goals. But Justin’s cat like athleticism allowed him to make saves that frustrated Brandon’s attack time and time again.
Tennis – Wyatt Caldwell and Garrett Reid
3 Doubles sophomore Wyatt Caldwell and freshman Garrett Reid dropped the first set in the FML tournament championship match to Flushing but were able to come back 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to win the flight and help the team win the FML title! Congratulations Wyatt and Garrett!
Boys Cross Country – Sam Schneider
Sam led his team in two races this past week. He placed 5th at the FML jamboree with a time of 16:43.16 and followed that with a 6th place finish on Saturday running a 16:40 in the Coaching Legends Classic at Huron Meadows. Both efforts by Sam helped earn the running Bronchos 3rd place finishes. Congratulations Sam!
Girls Cross Country – Monica Ruiz
Monica ran 19:47 in the Coaching Legends Classic held at Huron Meadows last Saturday. This is a season best time for Monica earned her 7th place and helped power the team to a 3rd place finish. Congratulations Monica!
Volleyball – Victoria Karakuc
The Holly varsity volleyball team went 4-2 this week, defeating Kearsley and finishing 2nd in the silver bracket at the Goodrich Tournament. Victoria Karakuc contributed greatly to the team’s success. A senior, and libero, Victoria finished the week with 68 digs and 2 aces. Victoria brings a high level of intensity to the Broncho varsity team and her competitive spirit keeps her teammates going during tough games situations.
Tennis – Ian Haupert
#1 Singles Ian Haubert had a big 3 set win on Thursday to help the Bronchos defeat Brandon 8-0 and extend their unbeaten streak to 105 consescutive matches. Ian has had a great senior season at the top of the Holly lineup and looks to be seeded at next week’s Flint Metro League Tournament.
Freshman Andrea Ruiz continues to improve to greatness. She ran 18:55 in the Division I race at the Bath Invite taking 4th place. She was only 4 seconds off the school record in only her 3rd high school race ever. Congratulations Andrea!
Volleyball – Maddie Meszler
First of all – a new volleyball record has been set! Congratulations to Maddie Meszler for breaking the school record of “Assists in a Game” with 44 assists against Swartz Creek last week! Even though Maddie’s name will be placed on the record board, assists cannot be done without excellent passing from our back row and big swings from our hitters! Well done, everyone, and congratulations Maddie! ATW write up – Maddie Meszler led the Bronchos in a close match against Swartz Creek this past week. A three-year varsity player, Maddie’s leadership and experience contributed greatly to the team’s success. Defensively, Maddie had 14 digs. She served tough, earning 3 aces. She also ended the game with 44 assists, which broke the school record of Assists in a Game. As a co-captian and setter, Maddie plays a central role in this year’s varsity team. She is consistently challenging and encouraging her teammates to better themselves each day, while also working to make herself better both in and out of practice.
Tennis – Jack Terry & Andrew Spak
Andrew Spak and Jack Terry went 6-1 this week at the 2 doubles flight. Their only loss was to the #3 team in the state, Ann Arbor Pioneer. The played an extremely competitive match with Ann Arbor Pioneer 6-3, 6-4. Andrew and Jack set the tone for the entire team by the way they compete every time they step on the court.
Tennis – Carsen Cuthbert & Ethan Postma
#1 doubles team of Ethan and Carsen finished as our runner up at the Grand Blanc Invitational. They had wins over three D1 teams…TC West, WL Northern and Grand Blanc.

Softball – Katie Dewey
In 3 games this week Katie Dewey went 8-9 for a batting average of .889 and an OBP of .900 Katie is a senior and was a leader all season for Holly. She has played a vital role in helping turn the program around. She ended her high school career with 3 of the best games she has played all season long
Tennis – Megan Lesperance
#1 Doubles player Megan Lesperance (with partner Ruby Barrett) played seeded Bloomfield Hills Marian in a extremely competitive match at the State Finals this weekend. Megan and Ruby were League and Regional Champions and had a awesome season at #1 Doubles.
Soccer – Amy Scruggs
Senior Captain Amy Scruggs again led the Bronchos this week. Her 21 completed passes and 7 steals allowed the Bronchos to out posses their district opponent Brandon. Amy played all 80 minutes and is a great example to the underclassmen. For the year, Amy ended up with 217 passes and 76 steals from the attacking center mid position.
Tennis – Danielle Sink
Congrats to Danielle Sink on her 4 singles Regional Championship. Danielle was seeded third to start the day but then went on to upset the #2 seed in the semifinals and #1 seed in the championship match. Danielle did this without dropping a set. In her three years on the varsity team, Danielle has always had a full understanding of the importance of team goals and her commitment and effort on Thursday emphasized this. Yesterday, Danielle won the FML title at 4 singles too!
Golf – Luke Harrington
Luke led Holly in scoring in all of our tournaments/matches last week. He shot a team beat 78 at the Oakland county D2 tournament. That score tied him for 15th overall. Luke also led the team with a 41 in a close loss to Swartz Creek. Luke has been out most consistent player for the year. On Tuesday, Luke earned 2nd team FML honors! Congratulations Luke!
Track & Field – Ryan Beltz
Ryan competed in the Regional meet at Lake Orion High School Friday afternoon in the long jump. Ryan finished in a successful 2nd, ensuring him a spot at the MHSAA State Finals. Ryan jumped 21-04.75. Congratulations Ryan and good luck at the state meet!
Baseball – Wyatt Scribner
Wyatt has a great week. He went 8-18 (.444) , (3) 2B, (1) 3B, scored (7) runs, had (5) RBI, (2) BB, & (2) SB. Also pitched (5) solid innings, giving up (2) hits, (2) ER, (0) walks, & (2) K’s. Played errorless RF in 4 other games. Bronchos went 3-3 on the week. Congratulations Wyatt!
Tennis – Jesse Hepner and Madelyn Chitwood
Sophomores Jesse Hepner and Madelyn Chitwood played outstanding this week defeating Fenton and Brandon at the 2 doubles flight. Both matches were won in straight sets. Jesse and Madelyn always have extremely positive attitudes on and off the court and have made a huge impact on the team this season. Congratulations!
Soccer – Lalli Valdovinos
Sophomore Goal Keeper Lalli Valdovinos had a strong week in Holly’s net this week. Playing her first season on Varsity, Lalli’s improvement was evident this week when she marshaled the box in the Broncho’s match versus Fenton. Her second period performance included a sweet double-save. She followed that performance making a 9 save performance versus Flushing. Congratulations!
Soccer – Payton Price
Sophomore Payton Price had a great second week of the season. In the attack, Payton scored 3 goals and added an assist. Payton’s first goal of the week gave Holly the lead at Lake Fenton. And to her credit, P tallied 7 steals and completed 23 passes, a tribute to her overall dedication to the game of soccer. Congratulations!
Softball – Madisen Beesley
Madison went 15-21 this week for a batting average of .714 and an OBP of .768 She also pitched 21 innings allowing 5 runs and an era of 1.67 with 19 strikeouts and 3 walks. Congratulations!
Track and Field – Isabelle Brown
Isabelle competed in the Pole Vault on Wednesday, May 3rd in a double dual meet against Clio and Flushing. Isabelle vaulted 10’6″ winning the event by 2 feet and coming within 3 inches of the school record. Congratulations!
Tennis – Shannon Torpey and Megan McReynolds
Shannon and Megan went 4-1 this week at the 3 doubles flight with wins over state ranked Farmington HIlls Mercy and Grand Blanc. Their only loss came to the number 1 ranked team in the state, Northville. Congratulations!
Tennis – Nicole Johnson
Junior captain and #2 singles player Nicole Johnson had a fantastic week. She went 5-1 with her one loss coming to the #1 one team in the state East Grand Rapids. She defeated defending state champion, Marian, in back to back days, both in straight sets. Nicole also defeated state ranked, division 1 powerhouse, Troy, in straight sets as well. Congratulations Nicole!
Baseball – JD Lannon
JD had a nice week for our Holly Bronchos Varsity Baseball Team. His stats include: 12 IP, 8 Hits, 3 ER, 12 K’s. Also went 6-14 at the Plate, 3B, (2) 2B, 2 runs, (6) RBI, Sac fly, (3) BB. Congratulations JD!
Tennis – Sami Hild and Maika Hogarth
Holly team of Sami Hild and Maika Hogarth won the 4 doubles flight at the Brighton Invitational without dropping a set. In the tournament they defeated state ranked Novi and state ranked Birmingham Groves. In the championship match vs. Birmingham Groves, they found themselves down 3-5 in the first set. The rattled off 10 of the next 13 games to win the match 7-5, 6-1. Congratulations Sami and Maika!
Tennis – Makenzi Sells and Paige Reid
In a match against the #2 team in the state, Forest Hills Northern, Holly’s #1 doubles team of senior captain, Paige Reid and freshman Makenzi Sells fought back after dropping the first set 2-6, 6-4, 10-7. They went on to defeat Petoskey and Mason in straight sets to win the #1 doubles flight. Congratulations Makenzi and Paige!
Tennis – Ruby Barrett and Paige Reid
Paige and Ruby won both of their matches this weekend against two state ranked division 1 opponents Rockford (finished #5 in the state last year) and Ann Arbor Huron (finished #6 in the state last year). Both wins were in straight sets. Congratulations ladies!
Bowling – Owen Gilliam
At the Regional in Mason last Saturday, Owen rolled a 201! Regional and State events, much like many tournaments, are bowled on challenging oil patterns which make it difficult to bowl games above 200. This years Regional was bowled on the Allen Pattern. Congratulations!
Boys Basketball – Austin Harless
Austin scored 28 points vs. Bendle and 24 points vs. Swartz Creek to lead Holly in two victories that week. Congrats Austin!
Bowling – Jake Warner
In the 6th annual end of the season FML Singles Tournament, Jake threw games of 181, 171, and 214! Great job Jake!

Braden threw games of 246 and 246 for a 492 series in our 16-14 victory over Clio. Way to go Braden!
Basketball – Payton Price
Payton continues to play a vital role in the success of our team and has done a great job finding her role and playing it to the best of her ability. She consistently is asked to guard the other team’s best guard and has become our most effective rebounder despite her lack of size (5’4″, 105 lbs). As a sophomore, she has been a sponge in terms of her basketball knowledge and we would not have the record we do without her. This past week in two league road wins at Kearsley and at Linden, Payt scored 11 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, had 9 assists and 3 steals. Her motor never stops and we are very lucky to have the ability to coach her.
Bowling – Eddie Sanner
Eddie led all bowlers in our match against Brandon held at Colonial Lanes. He threw games of 247 and 215 for a 402 series. Congratulations!
Bowling – Terin Cooley
In our match on Wednesday December 14, we bowled against one of the toughest teams not only in the conference but in the state, Flint Kearsley Hornets. Junior, Terin Cooley, bowled two great games of 196 and 191, winning both of her points, something that is very difficult to do against this particular team. She was the only girl on my team able to accomplish this. Congratulations!
Bowling – Jenna Royle
Junior Jenna Royle was a large contributor to winning both of our matches bowled on Saturday 12/10. In our first match against Flushing, Jenna won both her points by bowling a 202 and an incredible 232 game. In our second match against Fenton she again won both of her points and bowled a 153 and a 176. She had a very successful day and bowled incredibly. Congratulations!
Basketball – Rebecca Fugate
Rebecca led our team to two victories in the Walled Lake Northern Tournament this week. On Wednesday, Becca scored 24 points and was a key to our victory over Rochester Stoney Creek. On Friday, she scored 17 points and led us to a victory over host Walled Lake Northern. Even though she is only a sophomore, she is one of the leaders of our team and will be relied on heavily for her leadership throughout this year. To go along with her 41 points, Becca had 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals and 1 block in our two victories. Becca’s drive and determination are very special and I look forward to the many great things she does to help our team throughout this season. Kevin brings a great sense of pride to the committee and the work that is done. His energy is contagious and attention to detail is unmatched. Does not matter if you are a “newbie” or a ten year veteran on the committee he treats everyone with the utmost respect and values their opinions.
Bowling – Glenn Rose
Glenn Rose led all bowlers in our match against Swartz Creek with games of 179 and 245 averaging 212 for the day.
Football – Quincy Curtis
Quincy Curtis was Holly’s most consistent lineman for the 2016 season. Week in and Week out he Quincy did an outstanding job of creating holes for our running backs to run and providing time for our QBs to throw. Quincy performed at an all conference level all season and did an outstanding job leading as a senior. Congratulations!
Football – Jacob Honsetter
Jacob Honsetter had a terrific game on Friday. He rushed for 145 yards on 15 attempts for 2 TDs and 1 2 pt conversion. Jacob had TD runs of 63 and 6 yards, caught 2 passes for 8 yards to add to his offensive production and on defense Jake added 8 tackles. Congratulations!
Katie LaClair – Volleyball
Katie LaClair, a junior and 3rd-year varsity player, broke her second school record of the season this week. Not only did the break the Most Digs in a Career record earlier this year, but she also broke the record for Most Digs in a Season. Having broken the record for Most Digs in a Match last year, Katie has now swept the entire record board for Digs. With 734 digs this season and 1,498 digs in her career, Katie is one of the best defensive players in Holly volleyball history. With one more game to go in the regular season and her entire senior year next year, every dig that Katie makes will be breaking at least one record. Congratulations Katie! This is well-deserved!
Volleyball – Taylor McAninch
The Holly Bronchos went 5-1 this week, beating Swartz Creek in their conference game and winning the Perry Invitational on Saturday. Taylor McAninch played a major role in the team’s success with a total of 31 kills, 20 digs, 6 aces, and 10 blocks. This two-year varsity player brings great talent and athletic ability to the team and continuously works hard to improve herself and her team.
Tennis – Joey LaVigne
1 Singles player sophomore Joey LaVigne battled all year at the top flight. He was 5-1 in league play and took 2nd place at the Flint Metro League Tournament. He went on to be the #2 seed at the Regional tournament and went on to qualify for the MHSAA State Finals at Hope College where he played a very competitive match against East Lansing in the first round. Congratulations on a great season!
Football – Bryce Jacopec
Bryce Jacopec–LB– Bryce had an amazing defensive effort on Friday. He amassed 12 tackles against Linden…which included 3 Tackles for Loss…1 Sack…and 1 forced fumble. Bryce was everywhere for the Bronchos and his leadership helped spark a 2nd half turnaround. Congratulations!
Boys’ Tennis – Ben Skubik
2 Singles player Ben Skubik made the semifinals of the Regional Tournament and nearly made the finals by taking the 1 seed and eventual Regional Champion, Bay City Central, to 3 sets. He defeated Brandon in straight sets in the first round. Ben was also the 1 seed at the Flint Metro League Tournament by going undefeated in league play.
Boys Tennis – Andrew Spak and Jack Terry
3 Doubles Team of Captain Andrew Spak and sophomore Jack Terry won a Flint Metro League Championship on Tuesday.
Boys Cross Country – Michael Ponkey
Michael Ponkey led the running Bronchos to a 5th place team finish at the Linden invite. on Saturday. Michael ran a 17:20 and finished in 12th place in the Division 1 race. Congratulations!
Girls Cross Country – Monica Ruiz
Freshman Monica Ruiz took 15th place at the Linden invite this weekend in the 3.1 mile race with a time of 21.33.60. At the mile marker, Monica was 42nd place and amazingly caught 27 runners in the last 2 miles. Congratulations!
Soccer – Goal Keeper Parker Munday
Junior GK Parker Munday backstopped the Bronchos to perfect 3-0 week with wins over Kearsley, Clio, & an 8 save clean sheet win at Carman. Munday has 4 shutouts on the season. Congratulations!
Volleyball – Maddie Meszler
As a sophomore and second-year varsity player, Maddie is continuing to push the Holly volleyball program forward. As a setter, Maddie provides leadership and communication on the court and is always motivating her team to rise up to each challenge. Maddie finished the week with 25 digs, 61 assists, and 11 aces – 5 of which happened during the game against state ranked North Branch.
Football – Paris Partee
Paris had a special night. He caught the game winning TD with 24 seconds left to seal the 28-24 victory over Clio. For the night, Paris rushed the ball 21 times for 111 yards (5.3 per carry) and 1 TD. He caught 3 passes for 20 yards and 1 TD. Defensively, Paris was a force recording 6 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 additional tackles for a loss.
Tennis – Garrett VanGilder & Xavier Glass
2 Doubles team of Garrett and Xavier went 2 and 1 on the week with their only loss coming to the #1 team in the state D4 – University Liggett. Their wins over Swartz Creek and Brandon were in straight sets.
Volleyball – Shannon Torpey
The Holly Bronchos went 5-1 last week in two quads – one at home and one at Rochester Adams. Led by senior outside hitter, Shannon Torpey, the Bronchos defeat Okemos, Flint Powers, Kearsley, North Farmington and Roseville. Shannon Torpey led the team in serving at 92% with seven aces. She also recorded 57 digs, 21 kills and 2 assists. As a captain of the team, Shannon provides quality leadership to her teammates both on and off the court and as a 4th-year varsity player, her talent and experience consistently challenge her teammates, pushing them to the next level. Congratulations!

Soccer – Jared Halteman
Junior Jared Halteman provided the game winning goal Wednesday in Holly’s victory over Lansing Waverly. Jared got on the end of a perfect set-piece pass and buried a shot low inside the Waverly far post. Jared also played center back in the match earning 3 steals. Halteman now has 4 goals on the young season – 2 of which are game winners.
Soccer – Darius Reynolds
Senior Darius ‘Diesel’ Reynolds had great week culminated by scoring Holly’s game winning goal against Kettering Saturday. Darius led Holly’s attacker’s in playing time. And lead the Holly side by example. Darius even subbed into the defending mid role when Holly needed to protect a lead and performed that role to perfection. Darius is prepared for a strong senior year.
Tennis – Ethan Postma & Carsen Cuthbert
Our 1st Doubles Team of Ethan Postma and Carsen Cuthbert went 4-1 this week with their only loss coming to state ranked Forest Hills Northern. Included in their wins was a straight set victory over the #3 Team in the state Holland Christian and a 13-11 third set tiebreak win over Hudsonville after facing 3 match points. Congratulations guys!
Nicole Johnson … Tennis
Nicole Johnson and her partner Megan Lesperance upset number 2 seed Bloomfield Hills Marian in the semifinals of the Division 2 State Finals to advance to the Championship Match! They played a fantastic match in the Championship but fell to Forest Hills Northern 6-4, 7-5(5). Not bad for a couple of sophomores. Congratulations!
Ryan Beltz – Track & Field … Ryan competed in the FML Championship meet on Wednesday, May 25, he finished in 3rd place in the Long Jump, jumping 21-2.5. In addition, Ryan contributed to the 4×100 and 4×200 relays. On Friday, Ryan competed at the Oakland County Championship meet and took first place in the Long Jump, jumping 21-6.75. Ryan also ran the 4×100 that finished in 9th place with the time of 44.62. Congratulations Ryan!
Hayley Hild – Soccer … Senior captain Hayley Hild anchored Holly’s defense this week. Hayley recorded 26 steals and played all 240 minutes of Holly’s three matches this week. Congratulations Hayley!
Blake Staffne – Track & Field … On Tuesday, May 17th, Blake completed in a tri meet against Flushing and Clio. Blake won the 400m dash with a time of 52.3. He was also a contributing member of the 4×800 relay team that took first place as well as a member of the 4×400 relay team that placed 2nd. On Friday, May 20th, Blake competed in the MHSAA Regional meet and took 1st place in the 800m run making him a regional champion and earning the right to compete in the MHSAA state finals! Blake’s time was 1:56.97. Congratulations Blake! Good luck this weekend at the state finals!
Taylor McAninch – Tennis … Taylor filled in the #2 doubles flight with partner Haley Crimmins and played exceptionally! Haley and Taylor took 2nd place by defeating Petoskey and the #6 team in the state (division 3), St. Clair! Taylor is already one of the best players on the volleyball court and is now becoming one of the best on the tennis court as well!
D’Anthony Austin – Track & Field … D’Anthony Austin competed in the Bay City Western Invitational Friday, May 6th. He finished first place overall in the 100 M Dash with the time of 11.52. D’Anthony also competed in the Long Jump finishing in 8th place and contributed to the fourth place 4×200 relay team at Bay City. Congratulations!
Kate Beauregard & Jenna Pepper – Tennis …Jenna had an amazing week of tennis. First, she was named a Team Captain by her coaches and teammates at the Fenton match. Jenna was 5-0 at the 4 doubles flight with wins over #7 in the State Traverse City Central (Division 1) and defending Division 4 State Champion Academy of the Sacred Heart. Kate Beauregard played admirably on Saturday leading to Kate and Jenna becoming Flight Champions at the tough Holly Invite featuring teams from Ann Arbor Huron, Bloomfield Hills, Grosse Pointe South, Midland Dow, Petoskey, Seaholm and St Clair. Way to go ladies! Congratulations!
Haley Crimmins – Tennis…Haley Crimmins and her partner (who already won Athlete of the Week honors) won exciting matches over Grosse Pointe North and Clio this week at the 2 doubles flight. Congratulations! Well done!
Amanda Morgan – Soccer … Goal keeper Amanda Morgan made 12 timely saves Tuesday allowing the Bronchos to keep pace with Fenton. Although the Bronchos lost 2-1, Amanda’s effort was outstanding against a potent Fenton Tiger offense. Congratulations!
Michelle Major and Megan Lesperance – Tennis … Michelle and Megan won the 4 doubles flight at the Brighton Invitational by defeating State Ranked Birmingham Groves and Division 1 power Novi. They had to fight back to beat Novi in a 3rd set tiebreaker after dropping the first set!
Taylor Barrett – Tennis … Freshman Taylor Barrett took 2nd place at the 1 singles flight in the Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern Tournament. One of her wins was over the #7 ranked team in the state, Forest Hills Northern. Congratulations!
Payton Price – Soccer … Freshman Payton Price was on fire this week! She scored an incredible 10 goals this week!!! Those goals include 2 hat tricks – one against Owosso and another against Clio. She also scored the equalizer and game winner in Holly’s 2-1 victory versus Lake Fenton. Congratulations Payton!
Sami Hild and Danielle Sink – Tennis … Sami and Danielle won the 3 Doubles Flight at the Holly Invitational this weekend by defeating Grand Blanc, Clarkston and Almont. In their matches against Clarkston and Grand Blanc, they made amazing comebacks and eventually won in 3rd set tiebreakers
Maggie Schneider – Track & Field … At the Brandon Invite, Maggie Schneider took 1st in the 3200 running a great time of 11:21.21. Congratulations!
Jessica Richmond – Competitive Cheer … Jessica is one of our 8 seasons of success honorees. This means she participated and competed as a varsity cheerleader all 4 years in both fall sideline cheerleading and winter competitive cheer. Jessica was in every round (3 rounds each meet) this entire year for a total of 39 rounds. Jessica was one of our senior captains and her efforts lead us to three 1st place and one 2nd place invitational victory this season. Jessica was the very first Holly cheerleader to throw a running round off back handspring full, that helped inspire the underclassman to improve their tumbling skills. Jessica showed her versatility as a varsity cheerleader during every round in which she performed. Jessica will continue her love of cheer and her career as a Panther at Davenport University. Eddie Sanner – Bowling … In our regional singles event, threw games of 148, 181, 186, 202, 190 and 201 for an 1108 series. He finished only 57 pins shy of cut in a very tough field. Congratulations!
Madisyn Fultz – Bowling … In our regional event, Madisyn threw games of 135, 134, 127, 138, 139 and 214 for an 887 series. Her 214 was her high game for her career and it came in her last game of her high school career. Additionally, it was the 8th highest game thrown all day out of 474 total games thrown by 79 different girls on a very difficult Allen Pattern. Congratulations!
Braden Wilson – Bowling … Braden averaged 190 on Saturday in our matches against Swartz Creek and Flushing throwing games of 178, 187, 198 and 203. Congratulations!
Paige Reid – Basketball …
In two wins last week (at Kearsley and vs Linden), Paige scored 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, had 9 assists, and 7 steals. Paige is turning into a good all around player and this week is another example as to her growth as a basketball player. Way to go Paige! Congratulations!
Jenna Pepper – Basketball … In two very tough losses to two very good teams (Flushing and Fenton), Jenna scored 17 points, had 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 steals. Even though she is only 5’5″, Jenna is consistently asked to guard girls much taller than her because of her toughness and athletic ability. She is a four year varsity starter for us and prides herself on doing all the little things that others do not want to do but help a team be successful. She is the glue to our team and we as coaches appreciate all she does for us. Congratulations!
Emma Ford – Ski … Emma took 1st place in the GS vs. Grand Blanc and placed 1st overall in the GS event with a time of 45.44. Emma’s slalom time of 1:02.36 was also impressive.
Kyle Woodruff – Basketball … Kyle scored 40 points during the week … 22 pts in Holly’s 72-42 win over 1st Place Flushing High School and came back 3 days later to score 18 pts in Holly’s 64-51 win over 3rd Place Fenton High School.
Skiing – Keith Cotaling … Keith skied in the Giant Slalom event in our past Dual meet against Grand Blanc to help secure a win and won Overall in Boys GS with a time of 43.35. Keith also recorded a 53:61 in the slalom. Congratulations!
Bowling – Terin Cooley
Terin threw games of 182 and 175 at the FMBC Championship Tournament Sunday to lead the team. Congratulations!
Jenna Royle – Bowling … Jenna led the team with games of 214, 168, 196 and 191 for an average of 192 on the day. Way to go Jenna! Congratulations!
Bowling – Hannah Fultz…Hannah threw a 127 game while bowling with Hunter Wilson at the Davison Doubles Tournament. This game helped the duo finish as the highest qualifying team for Holly. Congratulations Hannah! Good luck Saturday vs. Swartz Creek.
Hunter Wilson…Hunter bowled a 200 during the Davison Doubles Tournament on December 26th. This is a great score on a tournament oil pattern where many scores were very low. Well done Hunter. Congratulations! Good luck Saturday vs. Swartz Creek.
Ian Hodges – Boys’ Basketball…Ian scored 28 pts on Tuesday Dec 15th vs. Lake Fenton then scored 31 pts on Friday Dec 18th vs. Linden leading Holly to 2 wins for the week. Holly is now 4-0 for the season. Great job Ian! Congratulations!
Vlad Craycraft – Bowling … Vlad Craycraft led his team to a decisive 23 – 7 victory over our rival Fenton, by throwing games of 259 and 202 for a 461 series and winning both of his points. Way to go Vlad! Congrats!
Jack Lewandowski – Boys’ Swim & Dive … Jack, captain of the Holly boys’ varsity swim team was a major asset in Holly’s victory against Avondale High School on December 8th. He finished first place in the 100 yard back stroke and second place in the 200 yard individual medley. Congratulations Jack!
Kaitlyn Smith – Girls’ Basketball … During this week Kaitlyn led our team to two victories over Lake Fenton and Lakeland. For the week she had 40 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, 8 steals and 4 blocks. During the Lake Fenton game, she posted a career high 27 points. In addition, Kait continues to be a great leader that is well respected by her teammates and coaches. She is a three year captain and someone we rely on heavily on and off the court. Congratulations and good luck this year!
Jimmy Gray – Football … Holly’s Lineman of the Year … Jimmy is a 3-year starter and is considered the most athletic offensive lineman in our program (by the coaching staff). He graded out at 93% and had 45 knockdown blocks (tied with school record for block %). Jimmy is the ‘best puller’ and when we needed yards, we either ran behind him or pulled him. He is a tremendous downfield blocker and would routinely pick up DB’s after executing his block at the L.O.S. He is a great finisher and attempted to take his man to the sideline on most every play. Jimmy is an animal on the field and in the weight room. He is a team leader and also an inspirational leader. He is a relentless competitor and is as tough a football player as they come.
Adam Tooley – Football … Against Brandon last Friday night, Adam had 40 yards rushing in 7 attempts, 4 receptions for 41 yards and 1 TD, 13 tackles and 1 TFL. The Bronchos finished regular season play 5-4 and have qualified for the MHSAA playoffs. Congratulations Adam!
Lexi Kivari – Swim & Dive … Lexi won the 100 freestyle against Swartz Creek with a time of 1:08.9. Great race Lexi!
Blake Staffne – Cross Country … Blake ran a great race yesterday at the Kayla O’Mara Invite. Moving up throughout the race finishing 6th overall and running a huge PR of 16:36, and helped the running Bronchos to a 2nd place finish.
Xavier Glass – Tennis … Xavier had an awesome season this year and capped it off in a very competitive match at the MHSAA Division 2 State Finals this past weekend. Xavier was a semi-finalist at the 14-2 Regional and continued playing fantastic tennis in the last week of the season. Congratulations Xavier!
Kelly Ray – Swim & Dive … Kelly swam two personal bests in the 100 yard breaststroke last week and finished in 2nd place against Powers. Congratulations Kelly!
Ben Skubik – Tennis … Holly’s 4 Singles, Ben Skubik, was a runner up at the 4 singles flight of the MHSAA Regional. Ben beat both Fenton and Flushing and straight sets on his way to the finals before losing to Midland Dow. Congratulations!
Tennis – Cason Konzer & Jacob Cavender … Jacob Cavender and Cason Konzer won the 2 doubles flight at the Flint Metro League Championship without dropping a set. Congratulations guys!
Golf – Chelsea Bowles … Chelsea Bowles showed greatest improvement of all players who earned with 1st or 2nd team FML honors when she shaved off 18 strokes off her score (102 to an 84). Chelsea’s round of 84 was a career best and is only 1 stroke off from being tied for the best 18 hole round ever in Holly Girls Golf. She played well all day and had some great shots. Her consistency allowed her to put up our leading score by never carding a higher number then 6. She did fantastic work on the par 3’s totaling 1 over on the 5 holes. Chelsea did her best work in the final 6 holes going only 2 over, with a chip in on number 10 and hitting her tee shot to about 10 feet on 12. Congratulations Chelsea!
Football – Matt Barnett … WR/DB Matt had an outstanding performance on Friday. Defensively, Matt led the Holly defense with an inspired performance with 7 tackles and 2 passes defended including a tackle for loss. Matt blocked a key punt that was recovered for a TD for Holly and was apart of two other blocks (PAT & FG) which were all major plays in the game. Matt offensively had a key 30 yard reception on 4th down in the 3rd quarter that led to the Holly go ahead score. In the 4th quarter again on 4th down Matt intentionally tipped a pass to teammate Adam Tooley that resulted in the game winning TD. Overall, Matt made contributions in every part of the game and was our best player on the field Friday.
Soccer – Lorenzo Rodriguez … Senior Captain Lorenzo Rodriguez returned to the keeper position this week and backstopped Holly’s defense to an outstanding week. With Lorenzo in goal, the opponents only scored 2 goals – and one of those was a PK. Lorenzo made a total of 30 saves – and amazing 0.966 save percentage. Lorenzo will be playing keeper at Saginaw Valley next fall. Congratulations Lorenzo!
Soccer – Lucas Sammut … Junior Captain Lucas Sammut had another outstanding week. Our midfielder scored 4 goals, earned 4 assists, and collected 10 steals. His efforts allowed Holly to start the FML season at 1-1 with a tight 3-2 loss at Linden and a strong 5-1 win versus Kearsley. Three of his four goals were in the Kearsley game, thus making it a hat trick! Great week Lucas! Congratulations!
Cross Country – Dilon Lemond … On Saturday Dilon led the Holly Bronchos to a 1st place finish as a team at the Nike Holly Duane Raffin Festival of Races! Dilon ran a great individual effort finishing 3rd place overall in the division II race, with a great time of 16:20. Congratulations!
Tennis – Evan Vergith … Senior Captain Evan Vergith had an awesome week going 4-1 with his only loss coming to one of the top ranked players in the state from Port Huron Northern. After losing the first set 0-6 vs. Petoskey, Evan rallied back to win the match in a 3rd set tiebreaker! Congratulations!
Cross Country – Lauren Hackett … Lauren ran a time of 19:30 and placed 14th, at the Bath Invitational in the Division I race. This is a career best time in only her 3rd meet of the 2015 season. Congratulations!
Tennis – Jack Terry & Ethan Postma … Holly’s 3 doubles team of Ethan Postma and Jack Terry had a great week going 3-2 with their only two losses coming to the the top 2 teams in the state, Midland Dow (ranked #1) and Portage Central (ranked #2). Ethan and Jack had a huge 3 set win over Birmingham Groves (ranked #7). The boys also beat Clio and Flushing. Congratulations guys!
Golf – Jenna Pepper … Jenna Pepper had great performances this week with 3 matches played. She posted 3, 9 hole scores of 43, 46, and 45. She has been turning it around recently and is starting to understand how to use the mental game to help achieve her goals this year. She has been playing better than what her scores would reflect. She has shown maturity when faced with bad holes to forget about it and continue grinding. More importantly she has been a phenomenal leader to this young Holly team. She has been a true captain to these freshman and has been teaching them how act on and off the course. Congratulations!
Tennis – Connor Caldwell … 3 singles Connor Caldwell defeated the #2 team in the state Forest Hills Northern. Connor lost to this player earlier in the season. Congratulations Connor!
Tennis – Garrett VanGilder & Carsen Cuthbert … In the match vs. Rochester Adams, our doubles flight was able to come back in the third set 10 point tiebreaker after being down 3-9. They won the tiebreaker 11-9 securing the match victory. In two tiebreakers vs. Grand Rapids Christian, Garrett and Carsen saved another 7 match points but eventually fell short 8-10 in the 3rd set tiebreaker.
Andrew Spak & Joey Lavigne – Tennis … Andrew and Joey are out 1st ATW winners this year. They took 3rd place at the tough Grand Blanc invite by defeating D1 Traverse City Central and Detroit Country Day. Congratultions guys! Good luck this season.
Haley Crimmins – Tennis … Haley had a fantastic season in her first year at #1 singles. She competed all year long and continued to fight at the Division 2 MHSAA Finals this past weekend. Haley lost a tough match to player who will be playing college tennis in the fall.
Michaela Luchow – Soccer … First year starting goalkeeper, Michaela Luchow performed like a veteran. She overcame injuries sustained during the basketball season to start & complete all 18 matches this season. She collected 6 wins, 5 shutouts and made 178 saves. A season highlight was making 23 saves vs Lapeer. Michaela can be counted on to always have a good field presence and to make the important save. Congratulations!
The Holly boys 4 x 800 relay team had another great week. Team members include Dino Vivanco, Zac Felix, Kurtis Cooley and Blake Staffne. The team went undefeated the dual meet season in the league, placing 1st in the league meet with a time of 8:10. The team has won the Williamston invite, Bay City Western invite, Regional champs. Congratulations Guys! Good luck at the MHSAA state finals!
Nicole Johnson – Tennis … Holly’s 2 Singles, Nicole had a great week beating Clio, state ranked Petoskey, and state ranked Williamston. She did not drop a set in any of the matches. A great 3 and 0 week for freshmen Nicole Johnson!
Nate Frasier – Track & Field … Nate had a great week of competition for the running Bronchos. On Wednesday Nate won the 1600 in 4:32 against Brandon. Nate also won the 3200 run in a time of 9:55. Both victories helped the Bronchos stay undefeated in the Flint metro league. On Saturday at the Williamston invitational Nate ran the 1600 and won in a personal record time of 4:26. Nate with his victory helped the team to a 3rd place finish. Congratulations!
Maggie Schneider – Track & Field … Maggie had a great week of competition for the running Bronchos. On Wednesday against Brandon Maggie won the 1600 and the 800. On Saturday at the Williamston Invitational Maggie took second place in the 1600 running 5:27, and fourth place in the 800 running 2:33.
Journee Kerner – Tennis … Journee Kerner was the lone singles player to win for the Bronchos in their crucial match against Fenton. She allowed the Bronchos undefeated FML match streak to extend to 100. This is the longest streak for any sport, in Flint area sports history (Greg Tunnicliff). She also defeated Flushing and Swartz Creek. Journee finished the week with a huge 3 set win over $ state ranked North Farmington. She finished the week 4 and 2 with her only two losses coming to state ranked Midland Dow and state ranked Clarkston.
Blake Staffne – Track & Field … Blake Staffne had a great week, helping keep his team remain undefeated in the FML dual meets. On Wednesday Blake anchored the 4×8 to a first place finish, anchored the 4×4 to a first place finish, won the 400 dash with a time of 53.8, ran the open 800 in 2:11. On Friday night Blake anchored the 4×8 with a season best time of 1:58 helping the Bronchos to a first place finish in the event and the 2nd best time in the state wiht a 8:01 3200 relay time. Blake then came back in the open 800, passed 5 guys in the last 100 meters to take 2nd overall running 2:00. Blake ended the Bay City Western Invite the same way he started it, with an anchor leg in the 4×4 and running a split of :51 and the team taking first place with a time of 3:32.11. Great week of competition for Blake and the running Bronchos.
Michaela Luchow – Soccer … Senior Goal Keeper Michaela Luchow backstopped Holly to a 2-1 record this week. Michaela’s week included 2 shutouts and making 38 saves and playing all minutes in all 3 matches. In Holly’s only loss this week, she stopped 23 shots against a red-hot Lapeer offense. Congratulations!
Abby Graff & Kate Beauregard – Tennis … Abby and Kate took 2nd place at the Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern Tournament this weekend. Abby and Kate defeated both state ranked Petoskey and Mason in straight sets. Their only loss came to the #1 team in the state Forest Hills Northern in the championship match. Way to go Ladies! Congratulations!
Dakota Thorington – Track & Field … Dakota helped the boys track and field team remain undefeated in the Flint metro league. On Wednesday Dakota placed 1st in the discus with a throw of 139′ 6″, and 2nd in the shot put with a toss of 45′ 4″. On Saturday at the Milford Balawadger co-ed relays Dakota led his team 3rd place finish in the discus with a throw of 147′ 4″, and a 5th place team finish in the shot put with a toss of
45′ 0″. Way to go Dakota! Congratulations!
Michelle Major & Megan Lesperance … Holly’s 4 doubles team, freshman Megan Lesperance and junior Michelle Major won the Ann Arbor Pioneer Invitational last weekend. They defeated state ranked and Division 1 powerhouse Ann Arbor Pioneer 7-5, 6-3 in the championship match. This is the first time a Holly team has won a flight at the Ann Arbor Pioneer Tournament in ten years! Outstanding! Great job ladies! Congratulations!
Paige Reid & Sydney Renehan – Tennis … Paige and Sydney had a rough start to the day and in the first set were bageled 0-6 by Division 1 are powerhouse Grand Blanc Holly’s 1 doubles was able to regain confidence and came back to win the 2nd set 6-2. They then won the 3rd set in a tiebreaker to win the extremely exciting match. Great win ladies! Congratulations and good luck this season!
Cierra Smith – Track and Field … Cierra led the Holly girls track and field team at the MSU true team invite. Cierra tied for 3rd in the high jump matching her personal best with a jump of 5’0″. She also placed 8th in the 60 hurdles with a time of 10.75, and tieed for 6th in hte long jump with a leap of 15’0″. Congratulations Cierra! Well done…good luck this season.
Javon Barr – Track and Field … Javon Barr helped the Holly Track and Field team to a runner up trophy at the MSU true team invite. Javon won the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.22, tied for 6th in the long jump with a jump of 19’3″ and anchored the 4×200 team to a 3rd place finish. Congratulations Javon! Good luck this season.
Dillon Sink – Skiing … On Monday, Feb. 23rd, Dillon participated in the skiing state finals. He skied in both events and finished top 25 in the state for both events. He finished 20th in GS and 23th is SL. His performance earned him all state honarable mention for both events. His strong consist skiing helped the team to a fourth place overall finish. Congratulations Dillon!
Amanda Sanner – Bowling … Even after injuring the index finger on her bowling hand on Thursday night, to the point of needing several stitches, Amanda bowled her personal best games during the Regional Singles event on Saturday of 174 and 179. Congratulations Amanda … great games!
Zac Felix – Skiing … Zac had a 10th place finish in the Southeastern Michigan Ski League championship. His contribution lead the team to a 1st place league champoinship … the 3rd title in 4 years! The team also won the MHSAA regional and finished 4th in the state! Congratulations Zac!
Vladmir Craycraft – Bowling … Vald bowled games of 224 and 226 during a match vs. Brandon. The Bronchos defeated the Blackhawks and denied them their bid for an outridge Flint Metro League title. Great games Vald!
Hannah Babon – Bowling … Hannah bowled a 177 and a 203 on Wednesday, February 4th to win both her points vs. Fenton. Against Swartz Creek last Saturday, February 7th she bowled a personal best 236 to win her point. Great week Hannah! Congratulations!
Keith Cotaling – Skiing … Keith stepped up his game at the Mt. Holly divisional race. His time of 45.90 in the GS gave him a 2nd place finish, his best of the season. His effort helped our Holly / Oxford ski team win the SEMSL Mt. Holly division championship! Congratulations!
Jake Daniels – Basketball … Jake Daniels had a career high 32 pts in leading Holly High School to a 69-55 win over Linden. Congratulations…great shooting Jake!
Sophie Que – Skiing … Sophi won her first race as a ski racer on Tuesday. Our senior captain was unable to race and Sophi stepped up big. She won the race against Flushing with a combined time of 47.65 seconds. This win in GS helped the girls team lock in another victory this year. Congratulations Sophi!
Josh Simms – Basketball … 5’10” senior guard Josh Simms had 20 points on Tuesday 1/27 and 23 points on Friday 1/30 in leading Holly to two victories over Flint Kearsley and Fenton. Josh is not a starter so all points were scored coming off the bench. Great games Josh!
Brooke Jackman – Basketball … In two games vs. Novi and Fenton, Brooke scored 24 points had 14 rebounds and 8 assists. In one of the games she had a career high 16 points! Congratulations Brooke!
Matt Harrison – Bowling … Matt bowled games of 226, 203, 214 and 194 in a double match versus Clio and Flushing at Holly Lanes on Saturday, Jan. 31st. Well done Matt…Congratulations!
Zach Zerwick– Swim & Dive … Zach took 1st place in the 100 butterfly against Fenton setting a personal best time of 1:08.75. This time is 2.12 seconds faster than his previous record. Congratulations Zach!
Albert Lewellen – Bowling … Albert bowled games of 200 and 237 for a 437 series to lead Holly in their match versus defending state champion Kearsley on 1/24/15. Great bowling Albert!
Audrey Currier – Bowling … Audrey Currier led the girls at the Oakland County Championship Tournament with a high game of 214 and a 550 series. Great bowling Audrey! Congratulations!
Emma Ford – Ski … In the Holly vs. Grand Blanc meet, Emma took 1st place on both slalom and giant slalom. She had a combined time of 1 minute and 12.69 seconds in slalom. In GS, she had a combined time of 48.89 seconds. Respectively, two seconds and one second quicker than the second place skier … which is a lot in this sport. Congratulations Emma!
Jake Kusluski – Swim & Dive … Jake set a personal record in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:16.56 and took first place by 7 seconds. Congratulations Jake! Well Done.
Kaitlyn Smith – Basketball … Kaitlyn scored 40 points and had 7 rebounds, 5 steals and 6 assists in our two games last week vs. Kearsley and Linden. Way to go Kaitlyn! Congratulations!
Scottie Brauher – Hockey … Scottie had a hat trick in the 8-7 overtime loss against Grand Ledge on Friday followed by four goals in Saturday’s game vs. Hudsonville. Way to start the season Scottie!
Allison Spitery – Swim & Dive … Allison swam the 100 Breast in a lifetime best of 1:21.4 finishing 4th overall at Flint Metro League Championship meet. She also PR’d in the 200 IM with a 2:53 finishing 10th. Congratulations Allison!
Blake Staffne – Cross Country … In our last two meets Blake has contributed to a Regional championship and the teams 11th place finish in the Division 1 state meet. Blake ran his two fastest times, 17:03, and 17:11 respectively, in the two biggest meets of the year. His 3.84 gpa also contributed to the team being academic all-state! Way to go and Congratulations Blake!
Lexi Kivari – Swim & Dive … Lexi ran away with the win in the 500 free against the Kearsley/Clio cooperative team with a time of 6:47.0. She took second in the 200 free with a time of 2:28.9. In the very close 400 freestyle relay Lexi anchored with a lifetime best of 1:08.2 for her 100 free split. Great meet Lexi! Congratulations!
Noah Brenner – Football – Lineman of the Year … Noah is a captain and 3 year starter at Holly. He was one of our most consistent players this past season. He plays the game with great passion and desire. Week in and week out was our highest graded lineman and a source of leadership for our team. Congratulations Noah! Great season!
Dino Vivanco – Cross Country … Dino, a dual sport athlete in the fall, helped the Holly boys cross country team earn their first regional title in 19 years. Dino had a 26 second lifetime personal best and finished 5th man for the Bronchos in 32nd place overall. Dino had a finishing time of 16:58. Way to go Dino! Congratulations and good luck at the MHSAA State Finals!
Toni Morse – Swim & Dive … Toni is coming off an injury to post best times in her distrance events. She swam a 2:32 in the 200 free against Swartz Creek and 6:49 in the 500. In the 50 she went 32.6 against Milford. Toni is having a great season. Congratulations Toni!
Sean Degnan – Soccer … Sean is our senior captain goal keeper who played extremely well this season and had a goal save of 84% . His leadership on and off the field was invaluable and helped keep our team unified through out the season. Well done Sean. Congratulations!
Andrew Spak and Dillon Sink – Tennis … Our league champion and regional champion 3 doubles team finished a fantastic season with an outstanding performance at the state finals. Unfortunately, their foe was top ranked Forest Hills Northern and although they played a tough match, came up short. Congratulations on a great season guys!
Juliet Clark – Volleyball … Juliet had 5 aces and served 93%, 62 good srve receive passes, 33 kills, 62 digs and 4 blocks this week. She has fun on the court and keeps everyone smiling. Well done Juliet!
Evan Vergith – Tennis … After a playing the best players in the state at #1 singles all season, Evan Vergithfinally experienced a day of being at the top. Evan dropped 5 total games in 3 matches as he rolled through the tournament to a 1 Singles Regional Championship! His 6-1 6-1 win over Flushing in the finals clinched the Regional Championship for his team 27-25 over Flushing. Congratulations Evan! Good luck at the MHSAA State Finals this weekend.
Zac Felix – Cross Country … Zac ran a lifetime best on Saturday at the Kayla O’Mara invite to help the Holly Bronchos knock off the 6th ranked team, Saginaw Hertiage,in the state. Zac placed 11th overall, with a time of 16:44. Way to go Zac! Congratulations!
Samantha Tschirhart – Cross Country … Samantha ran a season best time of 19:27 at the prestigious Portage Invitational, which is the 3rd biggest invitational in the US, bettering her previous best time by 45 seconds from last week. She placed 25th out of almost 300 runners. Samantha’s performance makes her the 4th best runner in HHS history with one month to go in the season. Congratulations!
Noah Apfel – Tennis … Noah had his best day of the season at the Flint Metro League Tournament on Tuesday. As the #4 seed Noah played the #1 seed Flushing extremely tough losing 6-4, 6-4. This was a much tighter result then the first time they played. He then took 3rd place by defeating the #2 seed Fenton 6-3, 6-1 who hed had previously lost to in straight sets. Way to go Noah! Congratulations!
Alex Karakuc – Swim & Dive … Sophomore Alex Karakuc took 2nd place in the 100 back against Brandoin HS in 1:20.04. She finished 4th in the 50 free with a time of 30.68. In the mdedley relay she had a fly split of 32.84 and 1:12 100 split in the 400 free relay. Well done Alex! Congratulations!
Kurtis Cooley – Cross Country … The Holly boys cross country team continues to be undefeated in the Flint Metro League this past week with the assistance of Kurtis. Kurtis ran a personal best time of 16:19 at the FML Jamboree #2. Kurtis’s top 4 finishing place, helped the Bronchos to a low score of 36 points. On Saturday, at the Oakland County Championships, Kurtis’s 23rd overall finishing place (improving from 75th place in 2013) aided the Bronchos to a 4th place finish out of 39 schools. Without the determination of Kurtis, the Holly Bronchos Boys Cross Country team would not have risen to the top in either occasion. Congrats Kurtis!
Sam Jones – Volleyball … Sam Jones led our team with 59 assists, 7 aces (93%) and added 31 digs, 4 kills. She was a big part of why Holly won the first Metro league game against Kearsley. Congratulations Sam!
Cristian Diaz – Football … Cristian is having an phenomenal season.
Again this past Friday he turned in an excellent defensive performance. He had 15 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 1 sack and 1 fumble recovery.
Consistently Cristian has been our best football player all season and this is the
3rd time we have nominated him for this award. Well done Cristian!
Lauren Hackett – Cross Country … In her first Oakland County Championships, freshman Lauren Hackett ran a PR of 19:34 and placed 23rd overall out of 308 runners, which was good enough for All-Oakland County Honors. Congratulations!
Ethan Postma – Tennis … Freshmen Ethan Postma filled in at #1 Doubles with senior Frankie Richmond at the highly competitive Holly Invitational this weekend. After getting down 5-0 in the first set to state ranked Detroit Catholic Central, Ethan and Frankie rallied back to win the set in a tiebreak 7-6 and then roll in the 2nd set 6-2 to win the match. In the consolation championship the faced another state ranked team in Okemos. Ethan and Frankie pushed Okemos to a 3rd set tiebreaker losing 12-10 in dramatic fashion. Ethan filled in admirably at #1 Doubles in one of the most competitive tournaments in the state!
Maggie Schneider – Cross Country…Maggie was 18th place with a time of 19:37 in the prestigious Jackson Invitational where many of the state’s best teams and individuals raced this last weekend. She only ran 3 seconds away from her career best time and helped her team garner a 9th palce finish out of 27 teams. Congratulations Maggie!
Dilon Lemond – Cross Country…Dilon had another great week helping the Holly boys’ cross country team capture the Div. 2 team championship at the Nike-Holly Duane Raffin Festival of Races. Dilon ran twenty seconds faster than last year by covering the course in 16:29 placing 7th overall in the race and the Bronchos 2nd runner. Great race Dilon! Congratulations!
Frank Richmond & Drew Fischer – Tennis…Holly’s 1 doubles team had a big win over state ranked Petoskey at the Holly Invitational this weekend. After losing the first set and facing a large deficit in the second set, Drew and Frankie rallied back to win the second set and force a third set. They were victorious in the third set to finish the amazing comeback. Well done guys … congratulations!
Mitch Hughes – Tennis…Mitch had a great week including a big win over state ranked Seaholm. Mitch was down 0-5 in the 3rd set tiebreaker and rallied back to win the tiebreaker 10-6. Congrats Mitch! Good luck this season.
Kate Beauregard – Golf...Kate led her team against Linden to squeek out a victory 196-204 on their home course Spring Meadows. Kate’s 48 was a career best. Congratulations Kate!
Connor Caldwell – Tennis…At the Okemos quad prior to the start of school last week, Connor had a BIG win over state ranked East Lansing and pushed Okemos in a tight match. Great matches Connor! Good luck this season and tomorrow at Grosse Pont North. Congratulations!
Nate Frasier – Cross Country…Nate led by example in the first Bronchos meet of the year winning the individual title in 16:25 and helping his teammates win the Ithaca Yellow Jacket Invitational. (Side note…Nate had a great week this week as well wining the FML jamboree!) Good luck tomorrow at Bath and the rest of the season Nate. Congratulations!
Scott Maki & Aaron Vergith – Tennis…our tennis 2 doubles team of Scott Maki and Aaron Vergith! Scott and Aaron took second place at the very tough Forest Hills Northern Invite and were consolation round champs at the eight team Grand Blanc Invite. Way to go guys! Good luck this season!
Alanah Rau & Paige Reid – Tennis…Holly’s 3 doubles team of senior Alanah and freshman Paige won a huge match at the Division 2 state finals last weekend over state ranked North Farmington to make it in to the quarterfinals. Congratulations Ladies…great season!
Hayley Hild – Soccer…Hayley, a sophomore defender, was moved to forward and she scored two goals last week. Her first goal was against Lapeer East and the second against Lake Fenton. Good job Hayley! Congratulations!
Natalie Clink – Tennis…Natalie led her team at the MHSAA regional on Friday at the 1st singles flight. She defeated a tough BC Western player in the quarterfinals and the #3 seed Lapeer West in the semifinals. Both wins were in straight sets.
Maddie Gross – Track & Field…Maddie set a new school record vaulting 10’9″, finished in 2nd place at the regional and qualified for the MHSAA state finals.
Drew Eggleston – Baseball...Drew went 3-0 for the week on the mound earning both wins against league foe Fenton and a single game against Linden. He pitched in relief game 1 vs. Fenton and followed that with a no hitter in game 2. He pitched a complete game vs. Linden giving up just 2 runs, 1 earned run, 5 hits and striking out 7. He was a force to be reckoned with at the plate as well hitting .500 going 9 for 18. Drew scored 4 runs, drove in 3, had 3 doubles and 4 walks. Great week Drew! Congratulations!
Dilon Lemond – Track & Field … Dilon cruised to a 3rd place finish with a 4:48 mile at the Fenton meet this week. His time of 9:50 in the 3200m run earned him 1st place. On Friday, at the BCWestern invite, he won the 3200m run with a time of 9:47. He is a MHSAA state finals qualifier. Congratulations Dilon!

Maggie Schneider – Track & Field … Maggie won won the 800m and the 1600m races and was part of the team that won the 4×800 relay and 1600m relay against Clio and Swartz Creek. Friday, at MSU, she placed 3rd in the 3200 with a school record 11:17 against one of the toughest fields she has faced this year. Maggie currently holds the top; time for the 1600 and 3200 in our league. Congratulations Maggie! Great week. Good luck the remainder of your season.
Week 32 – April 14
Leah Moller and Chloe Reynolds – Tennis … Seniors Leah and Chloe had a fantastic weekend at the Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern tournament. They took second place by defeating Mason and state-ranked Petoskey. By beating Petoskey at 2 doubles, they help Holly tie Petoskey 4-4 overall. They also defeated Kearsley on Thursday and finished the week wiht a 3-1 record. The one lostt come to the number 2 ranked team in the state, Forest Hills Northern. Congratulations ladies!
Week 31 – April 7
Katherine Skubik and Abby Graff – Tennis … Congrats to Holly’s 4 doubles team for taking 2nd place in their flight at the Ann Arbor Pioneer Quad! They defeated Detroit Country Day who is ranked #2 in Division 3 and Ann Arbor Pioneer who is state ranked in Division 1! Congratulations ladies! Well done.
Week 30 – March 31
Carley Postma and Sydney Renehan – Tennis … Holly’s 1 Doubles of senior Carley Postma and sophomore Sydney Renehan had a great tournament on Saturday. After starting down 2-5 against area powerhouse Grand Blanc, Carley and Sydney rattled off 5 straight games to win the set 7-5. They then went on to win the second set 7-5 as well to win the highly competitive match 7-5, 7-5. In their second match they played a fantastic match by challenging last years state champions from Birmingham Seaholm. This was also a competitive match that ended up going in Seaholm’s favor 6-4, 6-3. Congratulations Carley and Sydney! Good luck the remainder of the season.

Week 26 – February 24
Jenna Pepper – Basketball…In two district games, Jenna had 19 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. She continues to play outstanding defense and does all the little things to help a team win. In the district finals game, she scored 9 second half points and in the late stages of the game was 4 for 4 from the free-throw line. Congratulations Jenna!
Week 25 – February 17
Emily Wilson-Tshirhart – Competitive Cheer … Emily is one of our seniors that is a very skilled and dedicated competitor and knows how to be a leader to her team. We have had the privilege to watch Emily grow into an amazing cheerleader, athlete and young lady that her team looks up to and admires. Emily had participated in every round at all competitions and has helped lead us to a 1st place all Oakland champs and 2nd place at the Tiger Invitational! Way to go Emily!
Paige Reed – Basketball … In three games this week Paige scored 29 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, had 4 assist, and 5 steals. Paige does so much for our team outside of scoring. She plays great defense, handles the ball, and has shown a propensity to hit big shots late in games. She is growing and learning as a player and has a tremendous work ethic that is going to make her successful both on and off the court. Well done Paige, congratulations!
Jake Daniels – Basketball … Jake Daniels scored 27, 25 and 27 points in three games this week to help lead Holly Boys’ Basketball to the outright Flint Metro League Title. Congratulations Jake!
Week 24 – February 10
Dillon Sink – Ski … Dillon helped the Holly/Oxford boys to a 4th place finish in the Regional Ski Meet held at Pine Knob. Dillon took 31st in the slalom with a combined time of 47.87 and 16th in the GS with a time of 38.29. Congratulations!
Kyle Woodruff – Basketball … Kyle Woodruff scored 23 points in the game vs. Cio last week. Way to go!
Week 23 – February 3
Abby Lewandowski – Basketball … In two wins last week, Abby scored 18 points, had 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Abby has done an outstanding job of playing many roles for our basketball team this season. Congratulations Abby!
Hannah Babon – Bowling … Hannah shot a 106 and then a 181 to help the team be victorious vs. Linden last Saturday. Great job Hannah!
Week 22 – January 27
Brooke Jackman – Basketball … In Holly’s only game last week Brook Jackman came off the bench to spark the Lady Bronchos with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Two of her baskets were buzzer beaters to end the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Brook continues to be a valueable member of the Holly Bronchos.
Hunter Wilson – Bowling … In our match against Lapeer East, Hunter led his team to a 16 – 14 victory by winning both his points and throwing games of 223 and 243 for a 466 series. Congratulations Hunter!
Week 21 – January 20
Emma Ford – Skiing … Emma led the Holly/Oxford girls to a win against Flushing this week by winning both the slalom and the GS. She finished the slalom with a combined time of 1:12.16 and was over 5 seconds ahead of 2nd place. In the GS Emma won with a combined time of 52.20. Way to go Emma!
Week 20 – January 13
Jessica Cooley – Bowling … Jessica bowled a 192, 210, 214 for a 616 series to help the girls to a 6th place qualifying score and third place finish overall in the Oakland County tournament. Her series was 8th overall (out of 187 bowlers) and her 214 game was 14th overall. Great job Jessica…congratulations!

Week 18 – December 23…two weeks of Christmas Break
Kaitlyn Smith – Basketball … In our only game last week vs. Lapeer East, Kaitlyn had 10 points, 4 assist, 3 steals and 0 turnovers. She continues to improve in leading the Holly team as the point guard. Congratulations Kaitlyn!
Kyle Pepper – Wrestling … Kyle placed 2nd at the Oakland County championships. He went 4-1 and his only loss was in the finals against the #1 ranked wrestler in the state at 152lbs. Congrats Kyle!
Mitch Sharpe – Bowling … On January 4th, Mitch Sharpe threw games of 203 and 227 to lead the team against Clio. Well done Mitchell!
Heidi Martin – Bowling … On January 4th, Heidi led her team to victory with a personal best game and series. She threw a game of 278 with the first nine strikes. She then followed with a 198 for a 476 series. Way to go Heidi!

Matt Harrison – Bowling … Matt Harrison bowled games of 217 and 229 for a series of 446. Also, Matt did not have an open frame in either of his games.

Peyton Molzhan – Swim and Dive … Peyton swam impressive times in the meet last week. In the 50 back he swam 28.10, 2:19.84 in the 200 IM, 1:00.30 in the 100 back and 57.58 was his split in the 400 free relay. Great meet Peyton…congratulations!
Allyssa Copley – Basketball … In two league victories last week, Allyssa scored 21 points, had 16 rebounds, 13 steals, 6 assists and 5 blocked shots. Congratulations Allyssa…great games!

Week 11 – November 4, 2013
Zac Felix – Cross Country … Zac helped the cross country team to a 15th place finish in the Division 1 MHSAA state finals. Zac’s time was not one of this fastest but dealing with his injury and helping his team qualify and make it to the state meet is why Zac was chosen. Zac has a season best of 16:51 and he ran in the top 5 all season until the injury. If Zac did not run at regionals on a hurt leg, the team does not qualify for the state meet and does not finish in 15th place. Congratulations Zac!
Week 10 – October 28, 2013
Kurtis Cooley – Cross Country … Kurtis ran a great race on Saturday at the Regional meet, Kurtis stepped up and filled in for an injured teammate and helping his team qualify for the state finals. Kurtis was ranked 33 in the regional coming into Saturdays meet and finished 24th in the race and ran a time of 16:59. In Kurtis first full season of cross country he has lowered his time from 17:38 to 16:51. Well done Kurtis! Good luck at the state meet this weekend.
Katie Ordiway – Volleyball … Team captain, Katie Ordiway is our libero and has had an amazing season. This week against Brandon she had 19 digs, and 19 good serve receive passes. She also was 90% serving with 2 aces. Congratulations Katie!
Adam Tooley – Football … Adam had a record breaking game…recording 11 catches (new Holly record) v. Lapeer East for 100 yards and 2 TDs…and he recorded 5 tackles in a defensive effort. On the season Adam broke our season game record and our single season record for receptions. Great season Adam!
Week 9 – October 21, 2013
Cross Country – Dilon Lemond … Dilon Lemond helped the Holly Boys Cross Country team to it’s first Flint Metro League title in 17 years last Wednesday. Dilon ran a personal best on the Springfield Oaks cross country course, running 16:17 and finishing 3rd overall. Dilon was the 2nd finisher for Holly. Without this strong finish the Boy’s team would not have won this final jamboree, which secured the FML title and the team winning all three jamborees. Dilon’s performance ran himself to the HHS Sophmore Top 5 All Time list. Way to go Dilon!
Tennis – Will Moller … Holly’s 4 Singles player, Will Moller, came up huge for the Bronchos this past weekend at the Division 2 State Finals. Will was matched up against a player from Grosse Pointe North who he had lost to earlier in the season 6-4, 6-2. Will got his revenge as he defeated the Grosse Pointe North player 6-3, 7-5. Will then lost to the eventual champion form Midland Dow. Will’s efforts helped the Bronchos match their best State Finals finish since 2005 with 7 points. They finished 1 point out of the top ten. Congratulations Will!
Soccer – Sean Degnan … Sean is our starting Goal keeper has an .803 save percentage stopping 224 shots this year. Well done Sean…congratulations!
Football – Jose Martinez … Jose played a consistent and tough game on both sides of the ball. In 2012 he was honorable mention all conference and that leadership has been crucial all season for the Holly Bronchos. Congratulations Jose!
Week 8 – October 14, 2013
Golf – Paige Johnson … In one of the toughest regionals in the state, – 3 teams top 10 ranked and 2 other that had been this season- Paige finished with the 6th best score, a strong 85. Her score was good enough to make her the top individual qualifier. Paige becomes the first sophomore -boy or girl- to every qualify for the state finals in Holly history. Congratulations Paige!
Tennis – Jeff Sophiea … Holly’s 1 singles player, Jeff Sophiea, won his first regional championship of his career. Jeff Sophiea ends his career with 3 championship appearances and 1 regional championship at 1 singles. The week before Jeff became the 2nd player in school history to reach the singles championship four consecutive years. His 1 singles FML championship made for the first time two siblings have won the 1 singles FML championship in boys tennis FML. Congratulations Jeff!
Week 7 – October 7, 2013
Tennis – Parker Rowse and Craig Richards … Parker and Craig had an unbelieveable week. In the U of D Jesuit Tri Meet, they were Holly’s only flight to win their match vs. #3 ranked team in the state U of D Jesuit. The 1 doubles team from Jesuit that they defeated is the only one team to date that took a set of the best doubles team in the state – Midland Dow. This was an extremely impressive win for Parker and Craig and most likely impacted Jesuit’s seed for the state tournament.
Parker and Craig weren’t done there as they also went on to beat Okemos 1 doubles (ranked #6 in the state).
Then finally, after going in to the the league tournament as the #2 seed, they ran through the tournament with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Brandon in the semi-finals and 6-1, 6-0 over Clio in the finals. This was Parker and Craig’s second 1 doubles Flint Metro League Championship. It was their 3rd Flint Metro League Championship together (won at 3 doubles in 2011) and Craig’s 4th Flint Metro League Championship (won at 2 doubles in 2010). Congratulations Guys!
Week 6 – September 30, 2013
Swim/Dive – Jennie Degenhart…Jennie was the high scorer for the Holly swim team at Genessee County meet. She finished 6th with a score of 254 in diving. This is her all time best score.
Football – Jake Zorn…Jake Zorn was 24 of 34 for a school record 402 yards and four touchdowns in a 43-13 win over Flint Kearsley Friday. Jake did an outstanding job of getting us out of a number of long yardage situations and was also able to get plays alive with his feet. Jake was able to convert first downs of over 15 yards plus 5 times on Friday. Jake had an outstanding game and the best game by a Holly QB passing the ball in over 20 years.
Volleyball – Adrienne Cheff…Adrienne broke our school record for assists this week in our game against Clio. She had an amazing 44 assists. In total she had 83 assists out of 307 sets for the entire week. She served 87% (46 serves, 6 were aces) and added 15 digs. She is our only setter this year and has worked very hard in that role.
Cross Country – Vincent Cantu…On Wednesday at the FML Jamboree #2 Vincent stepped up to be the teams number two runner on the team and securing the victory for the bronchos. Vincent ran 16:38 and placed 5th overall. On Saturday at the Coaching legends classic Vincent ran his second lifetime PR of the week by placing 20th overall and running 16:33. Vincent performance also allowed his team to place 3rd overall out of 21 teams in the large school division on Saturday.
Tennis – Mitchell Hughes…Holly’s 3 singles, Mitch Hughes, has had a great season in first year as a starter in the Holly lineup. Mitch came up huge for his Holly team in their dual match vs. Fenton on Tuesday. After being down 4-5 in the first set to a three year varsity player from Fenton, he rattled off 9 of the next 10 games to win the match 7-5, 6-1. His efforts helped Holly defeat Fenton 6-2.

Maggie Schneider – Cross Country … Maggie ran 20:25 in the division 2 race at the Jackson Invitational this past weekend placing 11th overall. What was impressive was that Maggie started out 25th place at the mile marker and was able to get 14 more places from the mile to the finish, which is an impressive feat in an invitational setting.Congratulations Maggie!
Grace Doyon – Swimming and Diving … Senior Grace Doyon placed fourth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:42.2 and third in the 100 free with 1:11.7 in our meet vs. Lakeland. She was also on the fourth place 400 free relay with a split of 1:14. She was one of the highest point scores for our team against Lakeland. Congratulations Grace!
Evan Vergith – Tennis … Holly’s 2 singles player Evan Vergith won 3 of his 4 matches this week. His only loss came to D-1 powerhouse Rockford in the championship match of the Petoskey Invite. Evan had lost to Rockford earlier in the season 6-0, 6-0. In the second meeting, Evan pushed him to a third set losing 10-6 in the tiebreaker. One weekend ago, Evan loss to Petoskey in 3 sets. He revenged that loss yesterday by beating the Petoskey player in straight sets. Evan took second place in the tournament this weekend, but what is more impressive is the massive improvements he is making as the season progresses. Congratulations Evan!
Week 4 – September 16, 2013
Dillon Sink and Scott Maki – Tennis … Holly’s 3 Doubles Team had a great week going 3-1 in their 4 matches. Their only loss was to #5 team in the state (Division 1) Traverse City Central. The first win was over Clio 6-0, 6-0. In the Holly Invitational, Scott and Dillon defeated area powerhouse Grand Blanc 6-4, 6-4 in the first round. After losing to Traverse City Central in the 2nd round, they went on to play the #4 team in the state (Division 3) Grand Rapids Christian. After trailing 3-6, 0-5, Holly rallied back to win 7 straight games and take the second set 7-5. They won the 3rd set match tiebreak 13-11 to cap off the dramatic comeback and take 3rd place in the highly competitive Holly Invitational. This performance helped the Holly team finish ahead of state ranked Petoskey (#8 in Division 3) and Grosse Pointe North as well as tie state ranked Grand Rapids Christian (#4 in Division 3). Congratulations Scott and Dillon!

Week 3 – Sept. 9, 2013
Aaron Vergith and Morgan Baylis – Tennis … Holly’s 4 doubles team of Aaron and Morgan went 4-0 on the week. Two of their wins came in the highly competitive Holy Invitational which allowed them to reach the finals. One of their wins was over the #8 team in the state North Farmington in dramatic fashion 6-1, 4-6, 10-5. Another win was over East Lansing was in straight sets. The tournament was then rained out before the championship match could be played. Aaron and Morgan were victorious against league foes Swartz Creek and Brandon, both matches 6-0, 6-0.
Dan Brendel – Soccer … Last Wednesday, in our contest vs. Kearsley, Dan had scored a ‘hat trick’ (3 goals in one game). Addtionally, on Saturday in our game vs. Milford he had an assist. Congratulations Dan!
Week 2 – Sept. 3, 2013
Nate Fraiser – Cross Country … Nate opened up the 2013 season with a great performance at the End of the Summer C lassic on Thursday Aug. 29. Last year Nate ran 17:54 and placed 10th, this year Nate ran 16:54 finishing 4th overall and beating four of the individuals that beat him last year. Congratulations Nate!

Tennis – Parker Cuthbert and Taylor Mills … Our 2nd doubles team took 2nd place in the TCC invite only losing to TCC 6-3, 6-4 (they finished 5th in the state last year). In a 3rd set tiebreaker vs. Rockford, Parker and Taylor came back from a 0-5 deficit to win 10-6. Congratulations Guys!

Soccer – Ellie Curtis… Ellie is a junior, goalkeeper and our team captain. She defended 187 shots on goal this year. Her on and off the field leadership is fantastic and we look forward to having her back next year.

Tennis – Natalie Clink … Natalie had a big win this week over Brighton, 7-6(8), 6-3 and has had an outstanding season in her first year at 1 singles. She was runner-up at both the Flint Metro League and MHSAA Regional Tournament losing to last year’s number three seed at the MHSAA State Finals (Madison Ballard of Fenton). Besides the losses to Ballard, Natalie’s only losses are to state ranked teams. Being seeded as Holly’s 1 singles is an outstanding achievement and comes with great responsibility as Natalie competes against the best of the best week in and week out. Great season Natalie! Tennis – Carley Postma and Sydney Renehan … In the Holly/Fenton dual match on April 30, Holly’s 1 doubles team of junior Carley Postma and freshman Sydney Renehan lost to the heavily favorite senior tandem from Fenton, Emily McIntosh and Lily Dubois. The Fenton team had aspirations of winning their first league championship and regional championship after losing in the finals of both last year. This was explained by McIntosh and Dubois in a Mlive article from April 16. To put an exclamation mark on the season, Postma and Renehan defeated Fenton 6-2, 6-2 for a second time in the regional final on Thursday.

Baseball – Drew Eggleston…Holly Swept both Fenton & Linden this week. Drew threw two complete games, getting the in in both. The game vs Fenton was 1-0 & the game vs Linden 9-6 in extra innings w/ Drew throwing all 8 innings. His total stats for the week were: 2 wins, 15 innings pitched, 1 shutout, 6 runs, 3 earned runs, 12 hits, 5 walks, & 15 strikeouts. Congratulations Drew!
Track & Field – Dakota Thorington…Dakota is a Sophomore thrower that just hit the 147′ in the discus to set our sophomore record and qualify for the MHSAA state finals. He won the Lapeer East & Laper West meet, and the Fenton & Kearsley meet. On Saturday in Ann Arbor, he place 3rd in discus and he threw 41′ in the shot put. Congratulations Dakota!
Tennis – Jenna Pepper…After picking up a tennis racquet for the first time on March 11, freshman Jenna Pepper quickly learned the game tennis and entered the FML tournament as the 3 seed at 4 singles. Jenna was down 1-4 in the 3rd set to the 2 seed Lapeer West (who she had lost to in the dual) and rallied back to take the set 6-4 and advance to the finals. She then upset the 1 seed Fenton (who she had also lost to in the dual) 6-3, 6-1 to become a FML League Champion in her first year of tennis. Congratulations Jenna!

Tennis – Victoria Skubik…Victoria went 5-1 this week with her only loss to coming to the #1 team in the state Clarkston and nationally ranked player Isabella Spindler. In Victoria’s 4 Flint Metro League wins, she lost a combined 3 games! This included a convincing 6-0, 6-1 win over Fenton which allowed for a 5-3 Holly win. At the Red & White Holly Invite, Victoria also beat area powerhouse Grand Blanc, 7-6, 6-0. Congratulations Victoria!

Softball – Ashley Noren…In 4 games last week vs Lapeer East and Clio, Ashley went a combined 10-12 at the plate for a .833 batting average. She drove in 9 runs, took 1 walk, and had 0 strikeouts batting in the #4 spot. Ashley played 1st Base all 4 games committing 0 errors for a perfect fielding percentage. In game 1 of Lapeer East she went 4-5 with 5 RBI’s in one game. Congratulations Ashley!
Baseball – Joel Perry…Joel went 7 for 11, w/ (10) Walks, (6) Runs Scored, (3) RBI, (2) Stolen Bases, Double, HBP. Played (27) innings of error free Centerfield, while throwing a runner out at Home Plate. Record for the week was (2) Wins, (3) Losses, & (1) Game suspended due to darkness. Congratulations Joel!

Golf – Mitchell Hughes…Mitchell Hughes played well, shot a 42, in his round against Swartz Creek High School. Mitchell’s score allowed the Holly High Schhol boys golf team to lower our overall match score from last year by over 15 strokes.

Track – Sean Barr…Sean is a senior hurdler who won the 60 meter hurdles at the SVSU meet. He also ran on the 4 x 200 relay team that placed 2nd. Sean placed 3rd in the hurdles the week before at the MSU indoor meet. Congratulations Sean and good luck this season.
Tennis – Claire Young and Katherine Skubik – Our fourth doubles team went undefeated in the Traverse City Tournament this weekend. Congratulations ladies and good luck this season!

Competitive Cheer – Korlyn Kesteloot…Korlyn started our season never cheering a day in her life and by the end of the season she had grown into one of our best leaders. It was a privilege to watch her develop skills through out the season. She brought our team energy, strength and confidence. Korlyn competed in 10 out of 12 competitions, leading our highest/average scores yet in Holly competitive history. Congratulations Korlyn!
Basketball – Kaitlyn Smith…In our district games vs. Brandon and Fenton, Kaitlyn had 27 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals and 4 assists. Great games and season Kaitlyn! Congratulations!
Aaron Dehaven – Swim & Dive…Aaron qualified for the MHSAA State Finals with a 100 backstroke time of 57.52. Great season Aaron!

Ski – Dillon Sink…Dillon helped the Holly/Oxford boys team to a 6th place finish in the Region 2 ski meet held at Mt. Holly on Thursday. Dillon finished in 32nd place in the GS, and was in 38th place after the first run of slalom. Congratulations Dillon! Great season! Good luck at the SEMSL meet.
Basketball – Delaney Serra…Delaney had 21 points, 4 rebound, 7 assists and 5 steals in our two wins last week over Lapeer West and Lake Fenton. Great games Delaney! Congratulations!
Bowling – Andrew Anderson…Andrew Anderson had an incredible weekend. On Saturday, he won the 2nd Annual FML Singles Championship Tournament by throwing games of 259, 239, 229 for a 737. He qualified 2nd. He then went into match play where he threw games of 237, 247, 247 and 300 in the championship match. On Sunday, Andrew bowled in the S & R – 4th Annual Singles Scholarship Tournament in Bay City. He qualified 6th out of 60+ bowlers from around the state. He had a high game of 264 for the 6 game set. He then went into the step ladder finals where he threw games of 278, 258, 223 and 203. He lost in the finals and finished second for the event. A fantastic weekend. Congratulations Andrew!!!

Basketball – Josh Simms…Sophomore Josh Simms led Holly to two wins last week by scoring 20 points against Clio in a 68-63 OT win. Josh scored all 20 points in the 2nd half. Josh then led Holly to a 55-43 victory over Linden with 16 points, 10 of those points coming in the 2nd quarter. Great week Josh! Congratulations!
Ski – Emma Ford…Emma finished 33rd in slalom and 27th in GS in the Lake Orion Invitational on Monday. The Holly/Oxford girls team combined for a 7th place finish. On Wed/Thurs, Emma finished 10th in slalom and 11th in GS to lead the Holly/Oxford girls to a 3rd place finish in the Mt. Holly Division. The girls team also qualified for the SEMSL Championships. Congratulations Emma!
Ski – Zac Felix…Zac finished 22nd in the slalom and 14th in the GS to help the Holly/Oxford boys to a 4th place finish in Monday’s Lake Orion Invitational. In the Mt. Holly Divisional Championship race on Wed/Thurs, Zac finished 11th in slalom and 9th in GS. The Holly/Oxford boys finished 2nd in the Mt. Holly Division and qualified for the SEMSL Championships. Congratulations Zac!
Wrestling – Andrew Scott…Andrew was 5-0 for the week. He won the District championship on Saturday. He defeated the #4 ranked wrestler in Division 2 at 160 lbs. Congratulations Andrew! Good luck at the Regional championship this Saturday!
Swim & Dive – Peyton Molzahn…Last week Peyton finished 1st in the 200 medley, swam an excellent backstroke lead-off of 29.35 in the 200 I.M. and the team finished 1st with a time of 2:21.40, took 1st in the 100 back with a time of 1:00.84 and 1st in the 400 free relay with a time of 54.64. Also, finished 57th in MISCA meet out of 96 (seeded 95 with time of 1:00.48) with time of 59.34. Congratulations Peyton!

Wrestling – Kyle Pepper…Kyle won the FML 152 lb championship on Saturday in helping his team to a tournament win and the Flint Metro League title. Kyle was 4-0 for the week. Congratulations Kyle!

Bowling – Shannon Westfall…Shannon lead the team with a 196 and a 177 to help the girls to a 29 to 1 victory over Fenton. The team is undefeated in the FML! Congratulations Shannon!

Bowling – Matt Harrison…Matt had a busy but productive week. Wednesday night against Brandon, Matt threw games of 220 and 230 helping to lead the Bronchos to a 22 – 8 victory. On Saturday, during the Oakland County Championship tournament, Matt had games of 190, 200 and 207 for a 597 series and on Sunday during the FMBC Championship tournament, Matt had games of 236, 164 and 235 for a 635 and finished 15th out of 160 bowlers. This resulted in a 210 average.

Basketball – Kyle Woodruff…6’0″ Holly Varsity Freshman Kyle Woodruff scored 22 points in Holly’s victory over Lapeer West on Tuesday Jan. 8th and then, three says later, scored 23 points to lead all scorers from both teams in Holly’s loss to #1 ranked Detroit Country Day on Jan. 11th. Football – Evin Papuga…Evin had another outstanding game for the Bronchos in our 55-23 victory over Lapeer East. He rushed 10 times for 52 yards and did an outstanding job blocking for our QB who ran for 270 yards and had 6 TDs and who on most plays went untouched because Evin cleared a path to prevent any East players from reaching him. From his running back position, Evin had 5 pancake blocks and was the KEY to our offense on Friday. Defensively, Evin had another exceptional game: 10 tackles, 3 sacks, and 3 tackles for loss. He lead our defense that held a strong Lapeer East running attack for 15 points and a 2nd half defensive shut-out. Evin is among the finest players in the Flint Metro League. Congratulations Evin!

Cross Country – Dilon Lemond…Dilon led the Holly boys cross country team to a third place finish at the Kayla Omara Goodrich Invitational on Saturday. Dilon ran his second fastest time ever finishing the race in 16:48 and placing 10th overall. Congratulations Dilon!
Cross Country – Charlotte Ruffini…Charlotte ran 19:59.9 at the Kayla O’Mara invite at Goodrich this weekend. This is Charlotte’s first time under the 20:00 barrier. She is now the 11th fastest runner in school history. Her place of 7th place finish helped her team rally to a 3rd place finish. Congratulations!
Swim & Dive – Mary Brantley…Mary swam the 100 fly in 1:38.0 placing 5th against Fenton. Shortly after she swam the 500 free in 6:49.5 finishing 4th. Mary split a 34.2 in the 200 free relay and a 1:16.4 in the 400 free relays. She is a senior, captain and a really hard worker. Well done Mary…congratulations!
Tennis – Connor Bilkos…Senior captain Connor Bilkos battled injuries all season and was able to suit up for the Regional Tournament. He won two matches and was a finalist at the 2 singles flight.

Football – Kyle Vandell…Kyle had a fabulous game starting at left tackle for Holly. Kyle graded out at over 95% for the game and consistently drove his man 3-5 yards off the ball. Kyle did a great job in
helping lead the Bronchos back from a 21-0 deficit after the first quarter. In route to the comeback, the Bronchos running game played a pivotal role as QB Johnny Williams had over 200 yards rushing mostly behind Kyle. Congratulations Kyle!
Cross Country – Abby Brown…On Saturday, Abby ran a great race running her fastest time of the season and the 2nd fastest time of her career. Her time of 20:47 placed her 88th place in the division I rac
e, at the Coaching Legends Invite. It is important to note while 88th place does not seem like much, being from a small class A school just 30 kids above the Division I limit adds the stress a young athlete can face, while running against almost every school who is 2 to 2 1/2 times larger then yours. Further more, in this particular race, many of the states’ “”elite” teams were present, some of which are Nationally ranked, which makes Abby’s performance even more impressive.
Swim & Dive – Courtney Konopitski…Courtney won both the 200 free in 2:00.89 and the 100 free in 55.36 this weekend at County Meet. She was also on the 7th place medley relay with a fly split of 29.5 and the 5th place 200 free relay with a split of 25.24. Congratulations Courtney!
Tennis – Jeff Sophiea…#1 Singles Jeff Sophiea had 2 huge wins this week. His first came with a win over rival Fenton 6-3, 6-1 to help the Bronchos defeat Fenton 8-0 and head in to the Flint Metro League
tournament in first place. The second was to state ranked Okemos 6-4, 6-2 at the Holly Invitational. Jeff had previously lost to Okemos earlier in the season 6-3, 6-1. Congratulations Jeff!
Volleyball – Megan Piwowarski…Megan had a great week this week. She had 34 kills, 14 aces, 22 digs, served a total of 67 serves at 91% and had a total of 35 blocks!!! As one of our captains she works hard everyday at practice and as of right now she is ranked 15th in her class. She gives 100% on and off the court. Congratulations Megan!

Cross Country – Alex Matvchuk… Junior Co-Captian Alex Matvchuk had a season best time of 21:00 improving by 55 seconds from last week. Her 34th place at the prestigious Jackson Invitational help solidify th
e team’s 3rd place finish. Alex has undergone not 1 buy 2 knee surgeries as a sophomore. Thus, her season up until this point, she has struggled. Jackson was certainly a “break out” race for Alex. Her positive attitude and patience has contributed to her recent success and will carry her the rest of the way. As a coach, there are not too many things more thrilling then seeing an athlete such as Alex with many odds against them succeed.
Tennis – Aaron Vergith & Parker Cuthbert… Holly’s #3 Doubles team of Parker and Aaron won the their flight at the Petoskey invite by defeating Petoskey in the finals. Petoskey is currently ranked #6 in the state.
Golf – Alex Johnson… Alex shot an 86, good for a tie for 11th place, at the Oakland County Div.II meet at Pontiac Municipal GC. Her 86 was the best score of anyone on the team this season. Alex’s round lead our team to a sixth place finish as we shot a 377, our second best score in school history. Congratulations Alex!

Tennis – Morgan Baylis & Gunnar LaFave… Gunnar and Morgan went 4-1 on the week with their only loss coming to the #5 ranked team in the state, Grand Rapids Christian. They wrapped up the week by winning the consolation cha
mpionship at the Holly-Grand Blanc Invitational. In the championship match, Gunnar and Morgan trailed state qualifier East Lansing, 4-6, 0-3. They then rallied back to win the match 4-6, 6-3. 11-9.

Football – Johnny Williams…Johnny’s stats for last Friday vs. Clio include: 380 yards of total offense…6 TDs (two rushing TDs, two passing TDs, one 85 yeard kick-off return, one 65 yard punt return), 8 rushes for 160 yards and 3 of 4 passing for 70 yards, 3 tackles, and 1 pass defended. Believe it or not…Johnny only played in the 1st half.

Soccer – Connor Bilkos…Connor is a senior team captain and starting defender. He played 2 full games (160 minutes) without being subbed out. Connor is also a varsity tennis player and played in two tennis matches as well. His leadership on and off the field is outstanding. Our soccer team was not successful in the wins vs loss column, but in the improvement half to half and game to game category the team is excelling. A lot of this is due to Connor’s leadership and mentoring of young Holly varsity players. Congratulations Connor!
Tennis – Dillon Sink…Dillon showed extreme mental toughness throughout the week. In a crucial 4 singles match vs Brandon HS, Dillon won a 6-4, 7-5 nail biter. This contributed to Holly’s first dual meet win over Brandon in 3 years. Later in the week, due to injuries, Dillon was forced to move up a spot and play 3 singles. After losing to the same player the year befoer at 1doubles in the league tournament, Dillon dropped the first set 0-6 and was trailing 1-4 in the second. In heroic fashion, Dillon came back to win 11 of the next 14 games to win the match 0-6, 6-4, 6-3. Way to go Dillon! Congratulations!

Soccer – Ellie Curtis… Ellie was starting goalkeeper as a freshman and a sophomore. She finished the 2012 season with a .867 save percentage and was a leader in the defensive end of the field. She has been elected by her teammates as one of the captains for the 2013 season.
Tennis – Natalie Clink…Our sophomore #3 singles player defeated state qualifier Portage Central 6-2, 6-4 at the MHSAA state finals. She finished the season as a Flint Metro League and MHSAA regional champion while achieving the best record on the team. Throughout the year Natalie displayed strong leadership qualities, hard work and a posititve attitude both on and off the court. Congratulations Natalie!

Track & Field – Shannon Westfall…Shannon took 2nd in the 3200 run at the FML meet and 4th in the 1600. Her effort helped seal the FML championship meet win and a share of the FML title. She also ran the 3200m run in less than 12 minutes at the Oakland County Championships. Congratulations Shannon!

Track & Field – Rachel Domagalski…Earlier in the season, Rachel set our pole vault record with a vault of 10’0″. At Kearsley, on May 9th Rachel broke her own record with a vault of 10’6″. She repeated this tremendous feat again on Saturday and won the pole vault event at the Ann Arbor Huron River Rat Invite. Baseball – David McNeely…The Bronchos’ senior catcher had a fantastic week going 9 for 18 at the plate equaling a .500 batting average. David’s nine hits consisted of 4 singles, 2 doubles, 1 triple and two 3-run homeruns! Additionally, David scored twice had 9 RBI’s and was once walked intentionally. David threw out three runners on the basepath. Congratulations David!
Track & Field – Luke Schwerin…Luke took four 1st places on Wednesday in the meet vs. Swartz Creek and Clio. He ran 1:58 in the 4×800, 51.2 in the 400, 1:57 in the 800 and 51.3 in the 4×400. Additionally, at the Bay City Western Invite on Friday, Luke ran a 1:57 in the 4×800, 1:55 to win the 800 and a 49.8 split to help take third in the 4×400. Luke is a senior who was just invited to the Midwest Meet of Champions and will run for Team Michigan. Congratulations Luke! Good luck this season, at the MHSAA State Finals and at the Meet of Champions!

Tennis – Audrey Crimmins and Victoria Skubik…Our 1st doubles team went 3-2 on the week with their only losses coming to state ranked Bloomfield Hills Lahser and St. Clair. The team did not drop one set in each of their three victories. They displayed strong leadership qualities both on and off the court while demonstrating hard-work, a positive attitude and good teamwork. Congratulations Ladies!

Tennis – Brianna Rodriguez…3-1 was Bri’s record for the week with only the loss going to the #5 ranked team in the state Traverse City Central. At the prestigious TCC invite this past weekend, Bri earned a come from behind (dropped first set 2-6) victory against Grandville in a tough and exciting three set match to take 3rd place. She always displays strong leadership qualities and a positive attitude both on and off the court. Congrats Briana!

Swim & Dive – Garrett Pinagel…Flint Metro League champion is a title Garrett can claim this week after finishing 1st in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:09.94. He also earned 2nd team honors in the 100 freestyle (51.19) and the 400 free relay (lead off leg 51.23). Congratulations Garrett! Great season!
Wrestling – Tyler Gibson…He competed in the MHSAA state finals this weekend at The Palace and placed 8th…Tyler is an All-State Wrestler! He finished an outstanding season with a 46-10 record. Congratulations Tyler!

Competitive Cheer – Kellie Baker…Kellie is a second year varsity competitive cheerleader who has competed in every round three since early December. Her hard work and her dedication to our sport has made her a leader amongst her peers and teammates. Kellie has always been there to lift her teammates spirits both on and off the mat and has not missed one practice or competition. Kellie truly loves being a competitive cheerleader and is a big asset to our program. Congratulations Kellie!
Basketball – Delaney Serra…In Holly’s two games last week, Delaney scored 6 points, had 7 rebounds, 5 steals and 5 assists. Delaney plays many roles on our team and most recently has stepped up and performed well in the point guard position. Delaney always guards the opponents top scorer. Congratulations Delaney!

Basketball – Jessica Beeler…In Holly’s only game last week against Kearsley, Jessica had 12 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist. Congratulations Jessica!
Basketball – Jared Plawski…6’2″ senior guard Jared Plawski had an outstanding week. Against Detroit Country Day on Tuesday he had 19 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds. League opponent was our foe on Friday and Jared contributed 20 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Great week Jared! Congratulations!

Wrestling – Shawn Scott…Shawn had a fantastic week. He finished 6-0 with 5 pins, was crowned FML champion on Saturday (back to back titles) and earned his 200th career victory! Wow…amazing! Great job Shawn, congratulations!

Basketball – Lauren Maher…In the Lady Broncho’s two games last week against Lapeer East and Swartz Creek, Lauren scored 20 points and had 7 rebounds, 5 steal and 5 assists. Lauren scored 11 of her 15 points vs. SC in the 4th quarter and OT period Friday night at Swartz Creek. The team is in 1st place in the FML. Congratulations Lauren!
Ski – Spencer McKay…Spencer won the slalom (56.09) and took second in the giant slalom (47.71) this week victory over SEMSL foe Flint Powers. Spencer’s times were fast enough to earn him 2nd place overall in the division (all schools competing at Mt. Holly) in the GS and 3rd place in the slalom. Way to go Spencer!
Ski – Rachel Harrington…Rachel won both the slalom (1:02.84) and the giant slalom (49.73) in our victory over the Chargers of Flint Powers. She also took 1st place in the division in the GS and 5th place in the slalom. Congratulations Rachel!

Bowling – Erica Davies…Erica threw a career high 235 that placed her 8th high in the Oakland County Championship Tournament on Saturday. She also finished 10th high series with a 602!. Great job Erica and congratulations!
Wrestling – Anthony Gonzales…This past week Anthony pinned both FML opponents in the matchup vs. Lapeer West and Clio. On Saturday, in our own Robert Varner Memorial Tournament, Anthony pinned all five opponents. 7 pins this week, one in only :06 sec…fantastic! Congratulations Anthony!

Basketball – Nic Stoll…Division II recruit and Michigan Tech bound 6’6″ senior had 21 points, 8 rebounds, 5 blocks and 3 steals in the 51-42 victory over the Kearsley Hornets Friday night. Congratulations Nic!

Wrestling – Andrew Scott…Over break, at the tough Oxford Dual tournament, sophomore 145 lb. Andrew earned an impressive 5-0 record while pinning three opponents. Congratulations Andrew!

Bowling – Mitch Sharpe…In a tough competition against 2010-11 league champion Kearsley HS, Mitch rolled an impressive 203 to lead the Bronchos in the first game. Great job Mitch! Congratulations!
Wrestling – Mason Cleaver…In the two day Oakland County tournament, Mason excelled. He finished the tournament with a 4-0 record while earning three pins and, in the final match, defeating last season’s state runner up in a close 3-0 match. Mason is the 125 lb. Oakland County Champion, MVP of the lower weights division and MVP of the tournament! Fantastic! Congratulations Mason!

Bowling – Desiree Grice…In a hard fought match against the defending league champions the Kearsley Hornets, Desiree lead the team with a high game of 184. Great job Desiree! Good luck this season!
Basketball – Allyssa Copley…In Holly’s two games last week vs. league foes Lapeer East and Brandon, Allyssa scored 37 points, had 15 rebounds and 5 steals. She continues to help the Lady Bronchos improve their skills and as well as their record. Congratulations Allyssa!
Swimming & Diving – Aaron DeHaven…Aaron was a double individual event winner…200 freestyle and 100 backstroke. He broke the 2009 school record in the backstroke by almost a full second when he recorded a time of 59.52. Aaron also swam on the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay teams that finished in first place. Congratulations Aaron!

Bowling – Matt Harrison…First year bowler and freshman Matt Harrison overcame nerves and the pressure of anchoring the varsity bowling team in his first FML game to roll 218 and two game series high of 392. His scores led the team in our opening season win over Linden. Congrats Matt!

Football – Joel Schuermann…This 2 yr starter was the rock of our OLine. He graded out @ 90% and earned 31 knockdown blocks. Joel is a tremendous tactician who works tirelessly to the whistle. He did a great job in pass protection for us all year, always had a double read and did well picking up edge rushers when uncovered. We felt he was the best Center in the Flint Metro League.
Week 9 -> Oct. 17 – Oct. 23
Football – Austin Hopkin…In last week’s game vs. Brandon, that gave Holly our first ever Flint Metro League title and our first league title in 59 years, Austin accumulated 5 receptions for 115 yeards, 5 tackles, 1 interception, 3 passes defended and averaged 38 yards punting. Austin’s interception allowed him to break the school’s career record of 7 set by Steve Taylor between 1990-92. Per Coach Culloty, “quite simply, Austin was the best player on the field. Without his efforts we do not win. All of Austin’s catches helped lead to scores. Defensively, he completely shut-down one side of the field as Brandon completed only 1 pass to his side and he came up with a key interception in the endzone to kill a Brandon drive. Further, Austin’s punting skills established great field position for us an Brandon did not have a single punt return kicking away from their returners while still maintaining great distance on his kicks”.
Soccer – Ryan St. John…Our senior, captain goal keeper had a great season. His “save average” is 91.7% and he recorded 7 shutouts this season. Ryan was named 2nd team FML and All District goalkeeper. Congratulations Ryan!
Week 8 -> Oct. 10 – Oct. 16
Football – Allan Strode…On Friday, Oct. 14th during the homecoming game vs. Waverly, Allan had 15 tackles…2 sacks and 2 additional tackles for a loss. He broke the record of 18 sacks per career set by Paul McNeely in 2005. Allan now has 19 sacks and at least two more games this year. He has been a key contributor to an outstanding defensive unit this season. Congratulations Allan!
Week 7 -> Oct. 3 – Oct. 9
Cross Country – Mariah Ridal…Mariah ran a 21:08 on Thursday in the Greater Flint Championships medaling in 14th place. Her last mile of 6:30 enabled the great finish. Congrats Mariah…great race!
Soccer – Joey Budds…Senior defender, Joey Budds had two goals in the FML match up against Lapeer West. The first was one from centerfield early in the game and the second was the game winning goal. Joey also scored a goal in the game vs. Detroit Country Day and led us to a 1-1 tie.
Tennis – Taylor Mills & Zac Goodrich…Taylor and Zac are not only FML champions at 2 doubles, they are now MHSAA regional champions as well. Congratulations guys! Great job! Good luck at the state meet.
Week 6 -> Sept. 26 – Oct. 2
Tennis – Sam Caldwell…Back to back weeks, Sam is our athlete of the week, however, this time for tennis. Sam became a FML champion this week when he won the 2nd singles flight upsetting the #1 seed of the tournament in the championship match 6-3, 6-1. This week his record was 5-1 and he took 3rd place in the tough Holly Invitational this weekend.
Football – Evin Papuga…Evin recorded a career high 18 tackles with 3.5 for loss as the Bronchos defeated Flint Kearsley 33-14. Holly’s defense led by Papuga held the Hornets to 146 total offense. Holly is now 4-2.
Golf – Alexandra Johnson…In our only match last week, Alex shot 43 on The Jewel south course. Alex, our junior captain, has provided the team with leadership this season while having the team best average at 42.9 … the lowest in school history.
Cross Country – Luke Schwerin…Luke placed 5th overall last Wednesday in the 2nd FML jamboree with a time of 17:03, an improvement from his 8th place finish in the 1st jamboree. On Saturday, he medaled at the Coaching Legends Class in Brighton with a time of 17:13 and finished in 43rd place.

Soccer – Sam Caldwell…Midfielder senior captain and dual sport Sam Caldwell is this week’s soccer athlete of the week. Sam had two goals in the game against Lake Orion on Saturday.
Cross Country – Shannon Westfall…At the prestigious Jackson Invite featuring 20 of the states top rated teams in Div. I, Shannon ran a 21:0. Congratulations Shannon!

Tennis – Parker Rowse…Our 4th singles ended last week with a 4-1 record with the only loss to area powerhouse Grand Blanc in a 3rd set tiebreaker (11-9). Great week Parker!
Soccer – Dalton Sink…Our junior midfielder scored the game winning goal over Stoney Creek last Tuesday. Congratulations Dalton.

Tennis – Morgan Baylis & Connor Bilkos…Our #3 doubles team defeated Brandon in the final and deciding match of the Holly/Brandon dual in dramatic fashion 6-4, 7-5. As a result, Holly’s unbeaten FML dual match record was extended to 65 consecutive matches and their quest of a 19th consecutive FML championship still in tact. Earlier in the week they easily defeated Fenton 6-1, 6-0 to contribute to the teams 5-3 victory.

Football – Johnny Williams…QB Johnny Williams scored four touchdowns in a tough overtime loss to Lapeer East 29-30.

Tennis – Leah Moller & Cortney Munger…Leah and Cortney won their first match at the MHSAA Div. II State Finals defeating Gibralter-Carlson 6-2, 6-0 before losing in the quarterfinals to the eventual state champion and #1 seed Forest Hills Northern. Congratulations girls on a great season!
Track & Field – Davis Nixon…Senior, Davis Nixon placed in four events at the FML meet and just last week (what he earned this honor for) his 4 x 800m relay team placed 12th at the MHSAA Div. I State Finals and set a school record. Davis also on the 4 x 400 relay team at states. In the fall, Davis plans to run at Central Michigan University as a preferred walkon.
Week 40 -> May 23 – May 29
Track & Field – Luke Schwerin…Luke qualified for the MHSAA state finals in THREE events – the 4x800m relay, the 800m run and the 4x400m relay. He helped the team finish undefeated in the league and claim the FML title. Congratulations Luke and good luck at the state meet!
Golf – Chaz Bowles…Chaz shot a 78 at Copper Ridge in the FML touranment last Monday thus earning a spot on the FML All Conference Team. Overall, he finished tied for 7th place. Great season Chaz!

Track & Field – Mariah Ridal…Mariah qualified for the MHSAA state finals in THREE events. At the MHSAA regional on Friday, May 20th her 4×400 relay team took first place, her 4×800 relay team took second place and broke a 30-year old school record and Mariah finished in second in the 400m dash. The girls team finished in second place at the regional meet behind Rochester Adams. Great night Mariah…great season too! Good luck at the state meet!
Track & Field – Keon Ellison…Keon qualified for the MHSAA state finals in THREE events. At the MHSAA regional on Friday, May 20th his 4×800 relay team broke a school record and finished first, his 4×400 relay team finished in third and he took second in the 400m dash. Great night Keon! Tennis – Brianna Rodriguez…Saturday, Holly hosted the Holly Volley Swingabout at Genesys Athletic Club. The star of the day was Holly’s 2 singles player Bri Rodriguez who took her flight by defeating 3 state ranked teams. She defeated Grosse Pointe South (ranked #6 in division 1), Traverse City Central (ranked #5 in Division 2), and Ann Arbor Huron in the finals (who is unranked but took the tournament and will surely be ranked now!) Bri was the first Holly tennis player to win a flight at a Holly invite in 10 seasons.
Week 37 -> May 2 – May 8
Tennis – Stephanie Collier & Carly Postma…The senior/freshman doubles team is tough. They enter this weeks FML tournament as the #1 seed after earning a perfect 7-0 dual meet record. This week they also defeated powerhouse Grand Blanc 6-4, 6-3. Congratulations ladies! Good luck in the tournament!
Soccer – Melissa Smiles…A senior, captain defender, Melissa shut down the FML’s best player in the contest vs. Linden on Wednesday. Additionally, she had two goals in the game against Fenton and one goal in the game against Clarkston. Great week Melissa! Congratulations!
Track & Field – Mike McCarty…Training since November has certainly helped Mike McCarty get prepared for the season. On Wednesday, he ran the 1600m run in a time of 4:47 and the 3200 in 10:17. He also competed on the winning 4 x 800 relay with a split of 2:04. He followed up a great race day with another at BC Western on Friday. He ran his personal best in the 3200 with a time of 10:02 to finish third to a tough field of runners. The boys team is 8-0 in the league. Congratulations Mike!
Week 36 -> April 25 – May 1
Tennis – Natalie Clink & Jessica Aderholdt…In route to a 2nd place finish and a 4-1 record for the week, our doubles team defeated state ranked BH Lahser (#9 in D2). Their only loss was in a 3-set tiebreaker to state ranked St. Clair (#7 in D3). Additionally, in FML play, they defeated Lapeer East and Kearsley. Congratulations ladies!

Soccer – Kayla Skopek…On Monday, Kayla had a hat trick (3 goals) in our contest against Milford HS. Congratulations Kayla!
Track & Field – Dallas Crandall…Senior hurler Dallas Crandall has won every contest this year in both the 110 and 300 hurdles. Dallas ran a personal best of 15.8 in the 110’s and clocked a near personal record in the 300’s with a 40.8. He also helped the team win the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relay. The team is 4-0 in the FML. Congrats Dallas!
Week 34 -> April 11 – April 17
Tennis – Shannen Renehan…Last week Shannon earned a 3-2 record in her tough five matches as our #1 singles player. She defeated rival Fenton 6-2, 6-0 (#2 player in the area) as well as Brandon and Carmen Ainsworth. Her only losses were to state ranked Clarkston (#2 in state) and Grand Blanc (#1 in area). Additionally, Shannen is a leader both on and off the court. Congratulations Shannen!
Week 33 -> March 28 – April 10
Baseball – David McNeely…David McNeely paced the Bronchos’ offense against Flint Powers on March 30 with 2 doubles a Triple and a Homerun in 6 at Bats. David scored 4 runs and recorded 4 RBI as the Bronchos beat Powers 12-8.
Softball – Chelsea England…In a DH March 30th against Flint Powers Chelsea went 4 for 7 batting in the #2 spot, batting 2 for 3 in the win in game #2. Chelsea also had a great defensive effort on the day. Chelsea had a great first outing all while competing with a cast on her left thumb. Congratulations Chelsea!
Track & Field – Melissa Bott…The girls team won the MSU Playmakers True Team invite with the help of Melissa. She ran a leg on the winning 4×800 relay with a split of 2:30. She also ran a leg on the winning 4×400 relay with a split of 1:06. In the 800m run, she finished 4th with a time of 2:34. Congratulations Melissa!

Swim & Dive – Michael Gombar…1:16 was Michael’s time in the 100 backstroke giving him a 4th place finish against league rival Fenton HS. He also swam 27.5 in the 50 free. Congratulations Mike!
Wrestling – Joe Piwowarski…Senior, 215 lb wrestler won the MHSAA district tournament last week which aided the team in winning the MHSAA district title. Joe finished 2nd at the FML tournament and has a season record of 35-11. Congratulations Joe!

Bowling – Desiree Grice…Desiree bowled a 181 and a 172 winning both her points in our match against Flint Northwestern helping the team win by a score of 23-7. Congratulations Desiree!

Ski – Rachel Harrington…In our match against Flushing, Rachel finished 2nd in the slalom with a time of 1:05.27 and her time of 47.92 gave her another 2nd place finish in the GS. Congratulations Rachel!

Bowling – Mackenzie Walz…The Lady Bronchos were led by Mackenzie in the Oakland County Tournament this past weekend. Her 215 game earned her a 10th place finish out of 125 games (all games bowled that day). Great job Mackenzie! Congratulations!
Skiing – Dalton Sink…Dalton turned in a time of 53.56 in the slalom, good for an 8th place finish in the dual against Grand Blanc. Dalton’s giant slalom time was good for a 5th place finish in the dual. Congratulations Dalton!
Wrestling – Mason Cleaver…Our sophomore 112 pounder went 5-0 for the week winning four matches with pins. Mason was 4-0 in the tough Hartland Duals tournament on Saturday and was named lower weight class MVP. 28-6 is Mason’s record this season. Congratulations Mason!

Swim & Dive – Jake Quinnan…Jake, a senior captain, played a key role in the meet against Lakeland. He won both the 200 (1:53.17) and 100 (50.52) freestyles earning a trip to the MHSAA state finals with a qualifying time in the 100. Jake was also on our winning 200 (24.23) and 400 (52.66) freestyle relays. He trains hard…and always has fun. Congratulations Jake!

Basketball – Allyssa Copley…In Holly’s only game this week against Clio, Allyssa played a great all-around game. She had 4 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Allyssa is a ‘big’ reason why the team is currently 5-1.
Swim & Dive – Dakota Gordan…Dakota took 2nd place in the 50 free with a time of 26.34 and 3rd place in the 500 free swimming a 5:37.94 against Howell. He was also in our 1st place 200 medley and 200 free relays. Dakota is off to a strong start this season.
Week 17 -> December 13 – December 19
Wrestling – Shawn Scott…Junior Shawn Scott won the Oakland County championship in the 171 pound weight class and earned a 5-0 record for the weekend. In the finals Shawn beat the #1 ranked wrestler in D1. Shawn is now 20-0 on the season. Holly finished 3rd of 44 teams in the 51st Oakland County tournament behind Detroit Catholic Central and Oxford.
Basketball – Josh Fugate…Our senior guard scored 23 points and earned 4 rebounds and 4 assists in leading Holly to a 51-49 victory over the Linden Eagles. Josh is now averaging 19.7 points per game and is currently ranked as 10th leading scorer in the greater Flint area. He has led Holly to an undefeated 3-0 start.

Basketball – Ashley Xiong…In two wins last week Ashley showed leadership in guiding the young Bronchos. She scored 20 points and earned 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals. She also made a three-pointer that started a rally from four points down with 2 minutes left. Great job Ashley! Keep it up!
Bowling – Brianna Wilson…Brianna led the Broncho girls to their 1st win of the season and a victory over the Linden Eagles by rolling games of 160 and 150 and winning both of her points. Congratulations!
Week 15 -> November 29 – December 4
Bowling – Andrew Anderson…Andrew rolled a PERFECT GAME – 12 consecutive strikes for a 300. Fantastic and congratulations! He also rolled a 234 for an outstanding 534 series.
Wrestling – Esteban Gonzales…Esteban’s record for the week was 6-0 with 4 of the wins being pins. He was the champion at the tough Lake Orion Dragon Invite on Saturday defeating a state placer 14-5 in the finals. Additionally, he as voted the Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. Congratulations Esteban!
Swim & Dive – Grant Wilcox…Grant swam a 30.44 in the 50 free and 45.5 in the 50 breaststroke at the Tiger Relays on Saturday. Grant was also nominated team captain. Congratulations on both great accomplishments Grant!

Week 11 -> November 1 – 7
Soccer – Ryan St. Johns…Ryan had 9 shut outs this season and only allowed 11 goals throughout the regular season. His leadership helped guide the team to a FML championship and an overall record of 12-2-5. Additionly, he was chosen by the FML coaches as the #1 goalie in the league earning him 1st team FML honors. Ryan was also selected to the All-District team. Those returning to the team next fall have already selected Ryan to be the team captain. Congratulations Ryan!
Week 10 -> October 25 – October 31
Football – Joe Piwowarski…Joe has been a mark of consistency this season and every game. he has a blocking percentage of 94% for the season and is our most consistent offensive lineman. This year Holly broke its school record for total offense and scored the 2nd most points in school history…Joe was a big reason for this accomplishment. Joe was named 1st team All Conference in the Flint Metro League and has had an outstanding season. Congratulations Joe!

Soccer – Devin Papuga…Devin, a senior captain, scored the league winning goal in our 4-1 victory over Brandon last Monday. his leadership as a center defender was a huge part of our success this entire season. Our team only allowed four goals in league play and 11 goals this entire season. Devin was the very first player chosen by the FML coaches as a 1st team all-league player. Congratulations Devin!
Week 7 -> October 4 – October 10
Tennis – Ricky Slemons and Taylor Mills – The outstanding 3rd doubles team of Ricky and Taylor, senior and freshman respectively, went undefeated this week posting a 3-0 record. They won the regional clinching championship match Saturday by defeating arch rival Flushing in three grueling sets 6-2, 2-6, 6-3. With the regional on the line and hundreds watching, they maintained composure and secured the regional title by outlasting Flushing. They have demonstrated hard work, a positive attitude and teamwork all season long. Congratulations guys!
Week 6 -> September 27 – October 2
Cross Country – Alexandra Matvachuk – Freshman, Alex placed 15th at the Coaching Legends Classic Saturday. Her time of 19:57 is also her season best and it places her 9th on the HHS record board. Congratulations Alex!
Week 5 -> September 20 – September 26
Football – Allen Strode – Allen played great defense in our game against Clio. He has 11 tackles…3 for a loss. He had 3.5 sacks. The defense combined sacked Clio 8.5 times and held them to less than 250 yards. Great game Allen…congratulations!
Tennis – Sam Caldwell – Sam upset Brandon’s #2 singles player McKenzie Walsh (ranked as a top 10 player in the area by the Flint Journal and had a 17-1 record coming into the match) in the Holly vs. Brandon dual match which allowed Holly to tie the match 4-4 keeping in tact Holly’s 51 match unbeaten streak and the 63 FML unbeaten streak. He fought off 3 match points in the second set tiebreaker to force a 3rd set which he went on to win 6-2. Sam’s display of perseverance and determination in such a pressure filled match was inspiring to his teammates, coaches and fans. Sam played 5 matches this week and earned a record of 3-2 with his only losses coming to state ranked U of D Jesuit (#10 in Div. 2) and Almont (#2 in Div.4). He demonstrated teamwork, hard work and a positive attitude all week long.
Week 4 -> September 13 – September 19
Football – Anderius Gray – In the game vs. Fenton, Anderius had 12 carries for 215 yards and a 90 yard kick off return for a touchdown and was chosen as the MVP by the Holly coaching staff. Anderius had a great performance Friday. He did an outstanding job breaking tackles and keeping drives alive. He played with great spirit and emotion. Not only did he run well, but he did an outstanding job of blocking and faking as well. He helped Holly rush for 430 yards on the night.Anderius turned in two key plays in the 2nd half–90 kick-off return for TD after Fenton had cut the score to 28-27 and a 78 yard run that led to a score.
Week 3 -> September 6 – September 12
Cross Country – Jen Beckner – Jen ran a career best at the Bath Invitational finishing in15th place and earning a medal for her time of 20:20. Congrats Jen!
Cross Country – Luke Schwerin – Luke ran a career best at the Bath Invitational finishing in 6th place and earning a medal for his time of 16:45. Congratulations Luke!
Football – Johnny Williams – Sophomore QB Williams rushed 28 times for 280 yards and 5 rushing touchdowns. He completed 3 of 4 passes for 48 yards. His outstanding effort earned Holly their first win over FML favorite Linden since 2024. Great game Johnny!
Week 2 -> August 30 – September 5
Tennis – Jeff Sophiea – Our 1st singles player, freshman Jeff Sophiea, defeated arch-rival Fenton 6-1, 6-2 and Clarkston 6-3, 6-2. As a 1st singles player, Jeff always plays the very best player from the opposing school. He demonstrates hard work and leadership at all times. Congratulations Jeff!
Week 1 -> August 23 – August 29
Tennis – Erik Kahn and Zack Goodrich – One doubles team, senior Erik Kahn and freshman Zack Goodrich, defeated Brighton in three tough sets 5-7, 7-6, 6-3. They also defeated Clarkston 6-3, 6-3 while demonstrating good sportsmanship and leadership thoughout the week. Congratulations guys!

Soccer – Nicole Rombach…Our junior midfielder was the soccer ball distributor this season and a major reason for our success this season. She has 10 assists this season which ranks her close to the top and her cool, calm attitude under pressure is respected by her teammates.
Week 40 -> May 24 – May 30
Soccer – Kaitlyn Pusey…Our senior goalkeeper’s had an amazing season posting 5 shut outs and an .88 goal save percentage. She played in every game, was the focal leader from her vantage point and continuously exhibited great work ethic and committment. Kaitlyn was chosen team MVP by her peers. Congratulations!

Tennis – Nicole Owens…Senior captain and 2nd singles player Nicole Owens had a fantastic week. She won 4 of 6 matches defeating state ranked Grosse Pointe South (#4 in Div, I), Williamston (#1 in Div. 4), The FML tournament was held last week and Nicole was seeded third behind Fenton and Brandon. She fought hard, won the flight and earned 1st team all-league! Congratulations Nicole!
Week 37 -> May 3 – May 9
Softball – Miranda Rigoulot…This senior starting second baseman had a stellar week. In six games she went 12 for 20 hitting .600 with 8 RBI’s, 5 runs and no strike outs. She bats in the number three spot and her six hits were 5 doubles and a triple. Congratulations Miranda!
Tennis – Shannon Renehan & Stephanie Collier…The Broncho’s 1st doubles team earned a 4-2 record on the week losing only to division 1 powerhouses Ann Arbor Pioneer (#3 in state) and Ann Arbor Huron (#10 in state). Along the way to 4 victories, they defeated state ranked Clarkston. At the high caliber Holly Red & White tournament, the team finished in second place. Their dual meet FML season record is 7-0 and should enter the FML tournament ranked as the #1 seed. Great week and season ladies!

Track & Field – Josh Fiedor…Ed Lumm earned the state champion distinction in 1983 with a vault of 14’3″. This week, Josh broke the pole vault record with a jump of 14’6″. Congratulations Josh!
Tennis – Chloe Konzer…Chloe earned a 3-0 record this week without dropping a set. The team defeated rivals Fenton and Brandon in close 5-3 matches giving Holly’s team its’ 66 and 67 consecutive FML dual meet wins. Chloe carries out her leadership reponsibilites as team captain both on and off the court while demonstrating hard-work, a positive attitude and teamwork all week long.
Soccer – Olivia Smith… Olivia, our junior center midfielder, scored 3 goals and was credited with 2 assists in the April 21st victory over FML foe Brandon. She has been the energy catalyst of the team and plays 95% of the time. Congrats Olivia!
Week 34 -> April 12 – April 18
Soccer – Natalie Cieslak…Sophomore forward, Natalie Cieslak had an amazing week scoring 7 goals and having 6 assists…vs. Lake Fenton 2 goals/1 assist; vs. Brandon 3 goals/3 assists; vs. Clio 2 goals/2 assists. The team is off to a 3-1 start this season.
Softball – Hillary Timm…Four year starter, Hillary Timm split time last week at shortstop and catcher. Her five game batting average was .563 with a .857 slugging percentage while batting in the number 4 spot. Hillary had 2 RBIs, 4 doubles and threw out 2 for 2 attempted stolen bases. She also had 10 putouts and assists.
Week 32/33 -> March 29 – April 11
Tennis – Brianna Rodriguez…Our third singles player earned a 3-0 record this week when she defeated state ranked North Farmington, 2009 state qualifiers Allen Park and Battle Creek Lakeview. Additionally, she was the flight champion at the Allen Park Invitational.
Track & Field – Destinee Lukianoff…helped the team win the MSU Indoor Playmakers True team invite by running a 2:29 split on the winning 4x800m relay team. She won the 1600m run with a time of 5:31. (The team won by a slim 1.5 point margin!)
Track & Field – Cameroon Moussavi…helped the team win the MSU Indoor Playmakers True team invite. He anchored the winning 4x800m relay with a split of 2:05 and won the 1600m run with a time of 4:39.

Basketball – Lance Hopkin…In last week’s non-conference game vs. Flushing, Lance scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Great game and great season!

Competitive Cheer – Allison Degnan…Alli has been an intergal part of the comp. cheer team the last three years and she is devoted to the program. Characteristics that describe her include: hard working, role model, always striving to get better, great attitude, natural born leader…and the list goes on and on. Alli is a triple threat…she can fly, base and tumble. When at practice or a competition, you an always count on Allison to ‘leave it all on the floor’. Great season Alli…congratulations!
Basketball – Thomas Lovachis…Thomas scored 36 points last week, 19 in our win over Lapeer West and 17 in our win over Oxford.
