The Holly Middle School Bronchos picked up their 3rd win of the season last night with an 80-74 victory over a tough Owosso Middle School. In a bit of a shift in strategy, the swimmers were given the opportunity to pick at least one race of their own choosing they wanted to swim. The racers swam a great meet, and the shift in races paid off with a hard fought victory.
Season bests were set in the 50 free by Desaray Blair, Zach Brown, Tatiana Burden, Nate Costigan, Landon Heikka, Riana Kivari, Chase Valerio, and Cora Willing, in the 200 free by Nate Costigan, the 100 breaststroke by Josh Tait, the 100 I.M. by Silas Kivari, Tatiana Burden in the 50 breaststroke, Cora Willing and Landon Heikka in the 50 back, and Jayden Kline in the 100 back. Two swimmers led the team though in their efforts, with co-Swimmer of the Meet awards going to Caelie MacDougall (personal bests in the 50 free and 50 fly) and Megan Hollopeter (with a personal best of 33 seconds flat in the 50 fly).
The swim team has a few days to rest with their final home meet set for March 2nd at Holly High School. Come join the Bronchos as they end the regular season at home! Go Bronchos!!
